I have always defended Matip on here when some thought Lovren was better. Matip is much quicker, can read the game and his dribbling into midfield gives the advantage of maintaining the distances between the attack.

The amount of arguments Ive had on here with people saying Lovern was better is unbelievable

I remember people saying that Carroll was better than Suarez because we paid more

Also people were saying get rid because we had Gomez

Don't think anyone has an issue with Matip, his quality is obvious - he's just hard to rely on given his injuries (fair to say we've been lucky this season, touch wood he carries on).

That said, makes sense to me to play Konate and get him used to the team, since Matip slots in quite easily whenever he plays anyway

Konate needs to work his way above Gomez before we talk about him displacing Matip...and I think Gomez is VVD's best partner lol

Finally discovered who Culer is…..

And in a shocking discovery after his arrest in December, police found Fuller had for years been sexually assaulting dozens of female corpses in the morgue of the hospital where he worked as an electrician and maintenance engineer.

He admitted assaulting nearly 80 dead bodies, many of which he filmed, but detectives believe there may have been hundreds more in the three decades he worked at the hospital.

Speaking of Culer, do we ever expect him to return now? I'm assuming he's still here as at least one other poster.

Yeah, he's pretty incredible tbh. Just gives that protection and balance we need in there, whoever he is playing alongside. Vital to keep him fit.

Good to see Thiago back, bit rusty as expected but important to keep him fit.

Also thought that Ox played well (after passing it out of play in the first minute anyway). When he has two of Thiago/Henderson/Fabinho alongside him he will be useful to us, but him and Jones should never be in the same midfield together, ever.

Agree with this, problem is you can also add keita in to the mix, so I think we are carrying one too many, and Ox would be my preferred departure. Allowing us to add another deeper midfielder, we need to start planning hendos "retirement" he's going to need to start assuming the milner role soon.

Tieleman’s would be perfect, he’s got everything to come into our midfield, wouldn’t mind that young lad Tchouaméni from Monaco either.

He’d be great cover and competition for Fab!

We’ve been linked with Fabio Carvalho from Fulham to after he turned down a new deal, bet Fulham love us!

I'd still go for Bissouma as someone who can compete with both Fab and Hendo. Also can't keep relying on Milner.

We have Thiago, Elliot, Jones, Naby & Ox vying for the slightly more attacking MF role.

Can't see us getting 2 midfielders and Ox is surviving mainly due to him being English because we had too many foreign players in the squad.

What’s the crack with the sexual assault case?

I missed Wednesday night's game as I got the dates wrong and had arranged a curry night.

All the write ups seem to be praising both Ox and Tsimikas. Apparently Ox played really well and it would be harsh to drop Tsimikas for the weekend.

Do you guys agree with that?

Yeah I'd agree with that but I'd drop both if Thiago is fit.

Robbo needed a rest before facing Jarrod Bowen at the weekend for sure.

He knows he’s going to be dropped.

Ox was pretty terrific but if Thiago is fit then he has to miss out.

Squad game, West Ham are flying and we need to put our best players in.

So long as he can shield the defence he would fit fine, not everyone needs to be amazing at playing the ball given that all of our CBs do so uncharacteristically well.

I don't agree with that at all tbh. We commit men forward quickly and heavily when in transition. A decent side will set a good counter press, if you can't pass that's going to lead to all kinds of trouble in our system if he gives it away.

I could absolutely see us going for Bellingham, not sure why but just have a feeling

He'd be perfect for us but all the noise is that he wants Utd which would make sense given they have weirdly ignored midfield for five windows.

Ox has scored every time he's played in that stadium. Worth keeping him in just for that. Also think he deserves another chance after playing well midweek.

More and more noise about us getting Fabio Carvalho via tribunal.

I've not seen loads but he looks crazy talented. Hopefully Elliot has a word in his ear.
