"Think this highlights what we already know tbh, FSG have improved our performance as a business and club without putting their own money in - like any VC would, and I'm thankful it wasn't a leveraged buyout like Utd's was."

The problem I have with this is they walk away with around 4bn while we (the club) get left with nothing despite us taking loans from FSG and other credit facilities in order to grow this asset

I don’t know why it’s a problem though. They’ve done what they said they were going to do, and I don’t know what you mean by the club get nothing. They’ve grown the club commercially, overseen the expansion of the stadium and we’ve had on field success. Wishing for a sugar daddy besides, I’m not sure there’s much more we have the right to expect.

£50m for Mount is already way too much.

Can see United being taken to the cleaners by Chelsea there.

They could probably use the Saudi clubs to drive up his price tag too

At least Gundo to Barca is confirmed. Kovacic is not at the level of Gundo.

theyll still comfortably win the league

Kovacic is very underrated. If he can stay fit he’s a brilliant signing for them unfortunately.

They've had to deal with Kompany, Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero leaving in recent times. Gundogan is nothing for them

But we need that hope...football needs that hope

The 4 you mentioned were on there last legs. Gundo drove City to a treble so there is a difference here.

Just like how Mane almost carried us to a quad and we were going to fall apart without him

And Mane is out the Bayern door after one poor season.

A balanced person would say we sold him at exactly the right time.

Should we be looking at the Alex Scott kid from Bristol? big valuation compared to Olise or so but hes just as talented.

Think we've got enough 'project' midfielders on the books at the moment in Elliott and Bajcetic (and Carvalho if he counts).

Jones is 24 I think and still seen as a bit of a project too.

I’d imagine he’ll go to a smaller club where he’ll get game time and be allowed to develop as a player. Then if he’s any good he’ll have a huge price tag and posters on here will complain that we didn’t sign him from Bristol for peanuts….

Diaz getting injured was massive for us after selling Mane, I’d bet if he’d been fit for the season we’d have finished top 4.

Mane wanted out and after the season he’s had playing for the best side in Bayern, I’d agree with Term we sold at the tight time!
