Yeah no reason to sell Salah, especially when we don't know how are center forward will turn out and any world class replacement e.g. Saka would possibly cost more, and that's if they want to come to us after FSG turned us into a 2nd rate club on the pitch now.

It will be someone unproven like Olise or Diaby on 80-100k a week.

Someone will have to to replace his output eventually. The club needs to be getting the gears oiled up to replace him anyway. We shouldn't wait until the last moment to get a replacement as he's got only 2 years left.

I wouldn't be surprised if he signed an extension though. He could be the kind of player that remains effective into their mid 30s.

Also, Salah was relatively unproven to some degree when we signed him. It's near impossible to sign a replacement that would match his output now. We have to sign the next Salah, not another Salah as the latter is just about impossible. Any other player in the world bar the top two is a step down IMO.

Tell tale sign will be when we sign someone to play right forward. If you notice we signed Diaz a window before Mane left and Gakpo was signed in Jan with Bobby leaving now.

Maybe in the PL but the season before we signed him he had 15 plus goals and also similar assists.

I can’t find the exact stats but he was on fire and carried on with us from game one.

I want him to stay, but if we get a massive offer, let’s say 120 million plus I believe we’re sell.

Yeah, I used to follow continental football a lot more back then. He was electric at Roma and I predicted him to outshine Mane, but one great season after some years in the wilderness isn't proven IMO. Many players have a great period and then fade away.

For me with those stats and if you watch his goals and assists you have to say he’s a player.

And like I said from game one he backed that up.

Maybe not proven in our league but definitely a proven player.

Salah was electric at Basel and shone for them in the CL. It’s why both Chelsea and us tried to sign him originally.

The talent was recognised, it’s whether he’d make good on that talent regularly. At Roma he started to do that. So proven, unproven - it’s all in an individuals definition. I think what most people will agree is that he brought a player that has begun to fulfil his potential. And then some as it turned out!

The team won’t fall apart just because Salah leaves especially if we can strengthen better in 2 or 3 other areas of the pitch.
