Interstellar Space travel can never happen unless we/they invent teleportation or attain lifespans of thousands of years. It takes light 4.37 years just to reach the nearest star, where there are no signs of complex life already.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not quite true though. So in theory the Star Trek warp engine could work, if they can produce enough anti matter.
In 1994, Miguel Alcubierre, a Mexican theoretical physicist, showed that compressing spacetime in front of the spaceship while expanding it behind was mathematically possible within the laws of General Relativity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A simple google search shows that this concept is extremely hypothetical.
In any case, that's just one issue. Space isn't empty mate. You can't dash around the place at warp speed like they do in star trek.
There's all sorts of debris, asteroids, comets, rogue planets, rocks, clouds of dust, gas and who knows what else.
At those speeds running into even a small rock would explode your spaceship like crazy. Imagine flying into a gas cloud at warp speed. Probably end up creating a star FFS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not hypothetical, not that something can be 'extremely hypothetical' anyway, it either us or it isn't, it's theoretical.
There's also a reasonable chance that Einsteins theory of relativity may be a bit wide of the mark too.
Folding space, in theory, is indeed possible.
I believe that the only way for interstellar travel is gravity tech
Gravity is also theoretical

Pretty much. So we already know that if there us a strong enough gravitational field it slows down time, which is mental.

I don’t know whether to agree with Prof’ Mamba Cox or Prof’ Robbing Cox on this topic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm disappointed that you even need to think about it. Prof Mamba knows his sheet, mainly because he always takes a look at it before flushing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least we now know the source of all your ramblings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus Prof Robbing Cox sounds like he should be in a carry on film. I’m questioning the credibility of these two eminent physicists
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've met Brian Cox, he was alright actually. A little bit pleased with himself but given all the people fawning around him that's probably inevitable.
Certainly better than Ben Goldacre, he was a smug pr!ck.
Not sure I like the moniker Robbing Cox
Brian Cox is a thoroughly decent human being from what I can tell.

Something in research/development now is the use of solar sails. These will enable vessels to travel at 0.1% the speed of light or 300km per second. Apparently this is enough in itself to revolutionise space exploration.
Just shows how mind blowing actual speed of light is.

Yeah, he comes across really well on tv. Manages to explain things in layman’s terms, which most scientists really struggle with.

The fastest thing we have made is 586,800 km/h apparently which is some satellite.
We'll get there (as long as we don't set the world on fire and all due first).
Van den Berg gone on loan to Mainz. His contract is up at the end of the season isn't it? Feels like the club decided to get what they could in loan fees and let him walk at the end of the season.

Anyone read The Three Body Problem? It’s an epic trilogy but a brilliant read. I didn’t know before I read it that the three body problem is an actual thing and that no one can solve it. Apparently if it can be solved it’ll pave the way to all kinds of discoveries.
Read a piece on Jordan last night about, given all his work on the rainbow laces campaign, he's going to look an utter bell if he goes to Saudi.
Will he go? Money talks and bullsh!t walks is still true.

He can just say he’s going to make a difference, encourage change. Which could actually be true, if football really does take off there then there’s not much better at changing long held beliefs than sport. They’re letting in a big part of Western culture into their country possibly for the first time.

Good point. It does feel like he's going.
Conflicting reports on a transfer fee though!
Saw a couple saying the club wants £20m but Ellifyfaq want him for free!
From that you can deduce he'll leave for 10mil
James Pearce:-
With a three-year contract verbally agreed, Jordan Henderson's future now hinges on Al Ettifaq negotiating a transfer fee with #LFC.
LFC intend to stand firm. They were planning for next season with him on board and won't let him go cheaply. No bid yet.
Cheeky as feck expecting us to give him a free transfer. I’d start at 20m and add 1m a day until they come up with a respectable offer.
