We could use the Shelvey money to eradicate world hunger.

They paid us roughly 6m for him so:

The whole lot of its 5h1te and it needs to be changed but with out a good goal keeper behind them to give the defence confidence.

What's the point?

Thought Henderson was fantastic!

I think people are being harsh on the keeper, and then people are being harsh on the defenders in defence of the keeper.

The first goal, Sakho is unlucky, challenges with Giroud and half wins it, but bangs his head and loses concentration for a moment as a result. Toure then makes a bit of a mess of the next header, not a catastrophic error but it leads to possession going to them.

Arsenal then show high quality, nice quick pass to Campbell, great drive and pass by Campbell, great run by Ramsey and great finish by Ramsey.

There are some errors from us but it's a very quick and incisive move by them. I don't really blame Mig, it was in in a flash and not sure many keepers would have got down to it even at near post.

2nd goal looks really bad of course. Lallana, not a defender, is largely to blame for that one. He's the man who is supposed to be on the near post, the first line, and he isn't ready. Mig perhaps not fully concentrated either and could have kept it out but it's basically Lallana's fault. If he's in position properly he kicks it away for a throw or another corner but he takes too long to get himself to the near post.

Third goal we make some mistakes in the build up but again it's high quality from Arsenal at times too. Another cute pass from Campbell puts us in trouble and Giroud's work is superb.

The second goal is the only one for me where I say 'that was utterly pathetic defending', and it wasn't a defender at fault.

We are bound to be unsettled defensively with all the injuries we have had, and I don't think Mignolet helps with his rabbit in the headlights demeanour, but I don't think we are that bad either. People saying thinks like 'worst in the league' are massively deluded.

We are Liverpool and we try to win every game in the PL. This means our defence, and keeper, relative to over half the rest of the league, don't get a lot of protection.

We need to improve of course, but I would rather have our defence and keeper than any other team apart from 5 or 6 of them at most.

Only 3 have kept more clean sheets than us. 11 out of 20 have conceded 4 or more in a game, some of those several times, we haven't at all.

10 teams have conceded fewer goals but of those several are more defensive teams, not the balls out attacking style that we play, and have played even more arguably since Klopp came in.

Defending is very much a team game nowadays...especially in Klopp's system.

The forwards & midfield are very much to blame as the defence and keeper.

I blast the whole side bar a couple of players for a reason. They're all average at best...but some still have room for growth because of their age.

Buvac has his work cut out for him.

We may have to look to Caulker against the Mancs. United will be practicing set plays and longs balls and as much as I love Toure he isn't great in the air.

We still need Mig to command his box better and like R1 said he wasn't entirely to blame for the goals.

True...but you rarely see corners scored on the ground.

If I was Mig, I'd be very disappointed with myself for the first 2 goals. The 3rd came from Milner missing that tackle which he should have made easily enough, then a bit of a lucky deflection to take the ball to Giroud - Who i actually thought had a very very good game, glaring open goal miss aside.
