No pen*

Personally I didn’t see ours as stonewall. His hands were close to his body, wasn’t trying to make himself bigger. I think there was a movement towards the ball which is enough for a penalty though imo.

I just don’t see the Wolves one as even slightly debatable though. Comes flying out, puts the player off, misses the ball and takes the man. I see the PGMOL has apologised. One game of the season and they’ve already had to issue an apology

I am very confident we would be arguing alno pen if it went against us. Whereas the United one I think most here would be saying pen even against us

Hmm I'm not sure. As Robbing said he moves his hand towards the ball and his hand is raised. I'd have been $hitting myself during the VAR review if it was the other way round.

I'm not saying ours isn't a pen and if you had every ref in the world sit down for a week and decide I reckon it goes our way but it's not one of those unbelievable it wasn't given ones.

You can't just apologies for some decisions and move on. How does VAR look at replay after replay of that and still not give the penalty? It's literally insane.

As I keep saying PGMOL needs to be disbanded, anyone linked to it put to pasture and a new entity formed for a new start and a new direction. PGMOL are dinosaurs, afraid to make bold decisions, don't know which way is up and confused after years of completely facking up the game.

the ball wasnt moving perpendicular to the goalline, it was going towards the goal, the ball would have hit his shoulder and possibly rebounded in, his hand wasnt touching his chest it was a couple inches infront of it completely altered the rebound, if his hand was actually on his chest id say no penalty

I don't think those should be a pen but under current rules it should have been given IMO.

we'll concede a pen for something similar at some point

The only way referees will improve is if you can listen to them like in Rugby

They've trialled it in the women's world cup and it's great. Think I saw one abroad too.

Wow, as good as Klopp is with coaching he needs to stay the fack away from scouting and recruitment. I'd do whatever it takes to get Edwards back, man knows his football.

Is Edwards at another club or was he taking a break? I know he was linked with Real and United after leaving but don't think he went to either.

Soon as we deviated from the strategy that was serving us well it all went down hill and it was clear from the outside too. Then Klopp got upset denying he was too loyal etc. But the amount of times hes come out and said i was wrong the fans were right i've lost count tbh.

Question is can we get back to that strategy? This temporary DoF sheit and Edwards and Ward walking shows what a mess its been. Whatever lead to that mess needs reverting ASAP if its Klopp take it back off him, ideally beg Edwards to come back even if its only to get us back on track and mentor a long term successor again.

Big question, would you take Edwards back if it meant Klopp left?

Dangerous territory there though isn't it? no mans bigger than the club.

So we're saying if Edwards were at the club Caicedo would have went back on his word to Chelsea and signed for Liverpool?

Or what is it we're saying here? There's a whole team of people involved in transfers. I doubt one person changes the whole dynamics that much.
