For example, if we'd scored goals this season we'd be up there. It shows that considering we're second for chances created and first for shots.
Yes maybe five goals would have been cut out but for stupid errors from set pieces but we'd have scored a lot more simply with a striker who works in the system, which would have won us a lot more points than the silly goals would have lost us.

We have strikers who could do that. They are injured. That's why I disagreed with Kaiser that our immediate transfer policy should be attack oriented. We have strikers to give chances to. Unless one is leaving or a certified flop, we shouldn't be signing another IMO unless it's temporary. Maybe a winger. Defence and midfield is where we need to sign players IMO.
Anyone seen anything of this Inaki Williams we are linked with. I've never heard of him

I agree tbh, lack of attack exposes defensive frailties.
Since Suarez left we haven't replaced his goals properly, but at the same time we have been extraordinary unlucky with injuries...
I hope sturridge proves his fitness soon? Apparently been training alone for a good while?

Problem is, Strikers son't come cheap (especially in Jan) and the fact that there are 3 mobile strikers capable of pressing currently in sick bay probably means another one coming in isn't on the cards.
I think Shane Long is another one of those 'looks good playing for someone else' players who will totally fail to make the step up & produce the goods.

We don't want world class players, if we get one its only a window away from losing them to a long list of bigger clubs.
We want really good players who we can keep
That's what spurs and arsenal are doing at the moment. Just good enough to be in the top 4, not quite good enough for the big boys to come sniffing around

If you include Caulker, Long would be the 6th Southampton player we've signed since the start of last season I think. That's just ridiculous.
