So the audio has been released that Van Dijk called the decision to send him off a f@cking joke, and that's why he'll get his ban extended.

Seems rather tame doesn't it? I could understand if he called the ref that, but it was in relation to the decision.

Can't really complain about the decision or the extention of the ban.

I think it's pretty nailed on he gets a one match. Might scrape through with a fine with any luck though. I hope so cos if we can get something approaching a settled defence we could be in business.

I'm a big fan of trying to crack down on berating of refs. It just makes a hard job even harder and players know that, it's an intentional pressure levy.

That said, what VVD said seemed relatively mild in terms of language. It didn't look particularly aggressive to me.

What isn't really defendable is the failure to leave the pitch when dismissed. Maybe he was thinking VAR would save him and he was stalling for time but you can't hang around on the pitch if you've been sent off. You've never been allowed to do that.

I'm really excited to see what kind of tactics we use next.

Last season I felt Klopp was found wanting a bit tactically. Think you may have said the same??

But he's absolutely pocketed Howe and Emery so far and his adjustments when down to ten men each time has been first class too.

My guess is he was waiting for the ongoing VAR review which makes complete sense to me that he’d stay on. Pretty sure he went off after that was complete.

Little ridiculous if he’s walking down the tunnel and then called back to the pitch because the decision was overturned.

Ridiculous, captains can still speak to refs if done respectfully. Theres absolutely no need for asking players to be booked, or telling refs theyre a fkin joke because you disagree with a decision. Or whinging in their ear every decision like the rat Penandes. Im with the refs on this, more power to them.

I feel there is a middle ground.

Asking for a player to be booked should absolutely be a booking at least though. It's what maggots do.
