Benteke is a good option to have when plan a is not working and playing direct football.

On a serious note, i dont mind him off the bench.

I've said it numerous times, he's the perfect plan B option.

An expensive option but none the less it can be a game changer

Not many people wanted Firmino out.

A lot of people, including myself, said he had been awful up until the Arsenal game, which is true.

Those who suddenly think he is worldbeater after a couple of good games are as silly as those who wanted him out to be honest.

How about judging a player over a long period of time. Let's judge him at the end of the season, or better next season. I want him to succeed more than anyone but I remain unconvinced he can reproduce recent form on a long term basis. Let's wait and see.

If Benteke was 19 then I could understand persevering with him in trying to change how he plays.

He's 25 though, I find it incredibly hard to believe that other coaches haven't told him where to run and how to make movements that will create more goal scoring chances for him than the hang around the edge of the box with your arms out technique he chooses to employ.

Like Balotelli before him, I just can't see him changing as I don't believe he thinks he needs to.

Firmino hadn't been awful up to Arsenal though.

When played up front he was good in two out of three games, only at Watford was he poor, in a dire team performance.

He was awful in midfield virtually every time.

Now in 5 out of 6 games up front he has been outstanding, scoring at a high rate and creating loads for himself and others.

He wasn't comfortable in attacking midfield in this team.

I'll keep him where he is...

Just add a pacy wide-forward on the right hand side that makes those diagonal runs infield and see where we're at.

I loved his finish for our 3rd vs. Norwich. Great touch and calmness personified to dink it into the net when others could've panicked.

Texeira.

I think the current free roaming role suits him best.

I think once he works on his finishing, strength on the ball and decision making (as the team gets more time together), he turn into a complete striker that could score and create for us.

Firmino has been a good as a striker, bar that Watford, I admit.

His performances in attacking midfield positions have been dissapointing to say the least though- didn't he play there most the time at Hoffenheim, genuinely don't know as I didn't watch him.

If we get Teixeira. big if, i think I'd still keep Firmino as the central striker with Tex wide, or diamond with Coutinho behind. I don't think Benteke's lack of movement has been enough to explain those performances in midfield.

Probably won't have the luxury anyway because of Shakhtar

He's played a 4312 a few times at Dortmund, mainly against Bayern...probably because he wanted to press their defence with a 2v2 because of their high line.

If we can get Texeira we will have Firmino and him who can create and score goals with good movement. We lack pace and movement in the attacking area. Running in space without the ball is a quality. We have a lot players who want the ball at feet.

The transfer is not prestige enough for someone like Bushmouse.

I have never seen Tex play, so know absolutely zero about him. But is no one else worried that he has zero caps. Jo, Fred and Hulk have over 100 between them
