Yeah we do need to put in a performance tomorrow, as others have said we’ve not played consistently well for a while. Needs to change tomorrow.

Yeah, I don’t care if it’s our worst performance of the season as long as we win. I’ve got a feeling it could be closer than many think, just want to get it out of the way tbh.

I hate this fixture. The one you most want to win and also avoid defeat.
Everything points to us winning but sport doesn’t work like that. While I’d love to hammer them a la last season a scrappy 1-0 will also suffice

If we win I expect a narrow margin too. We are not playing well at all but the mentality of the players is fantastic to keep pulling out wins.

Media and pundits have already written off United for today's game so they might come out swinging with a nothing to lose attitude. That said, they are a poor team with all those injuries and suspensions on top.

If they do that we will batter them. Their only hope is to work their socks off and outfight us like they did the last time they beat us. But I’m not sure they’re capable to that at the moment.

Yeah considering it’s an Anfield I really can’t see them putting much effort in. Whole club is absolutely toxic.

What do people think for the midfield today then?

Szoboslai aside, I honestly have no clue. Pick two from Endo, Jones, Grav, Elliott, Trent and even Gakpo. Wouldn’t be surprised by any combination really.

Personally would go Szob, Endo, Grav but i think we may see Elliot.

Jones, Grav ans Szob for me. Endo just doesn't look like he's up to speed with the system yet. Jones offers us a bit of control in midfield by being able to slow down play if required. Can't play the game at 100mph for 100 minutes. Only concern is he played 90 minutes on Thursday and looked off the pace a bit.

Just Biscan will be enough

Anyone think Brighton might do us a favour today?

Apparently they have won their last 3 visits there but it’s not the same Brighton team as those sides. This one is out of form, got loads of injuries, tired from Europa midweek. Hard to see them getting anything personally.

Yeah, sadly I think the same. Arsenal are like us though, not playing brilliantly but getting results and Brighton seem to up their game against the big teams.

they kept bayern to 1-0? dont think we're playing that well atm, most the last few games felt like we're carrying a lot of passengers.

It’s the timing of the game for me, would have fancied Brighton for something had it been early on in the season. Looks like a good time to play them now.

Fair comments Neo and IB. I remain optimistic though! One thing I think may go in our favour over the course of the season is that Saka always seems to get a knock in every game and then Arteta plays him next game anyway. Don't think that's sustainable over the course of season.

Either that or he'll do a Rooney and fall off a cliff when he reaches 30.

I watched that game, Bayern did not look particularly special tbh. Coasted the whole game and Utd had no threat, very subdued game.

Score an early goal and you can really see Utd collapsing and trying to foul our players, their mentality seems horriblly fragile at the moment

issue is we're more likely to concede first lets be honest, probably str8 from being in possession under no pressure just a sloppy failed attempt at a 5 yard pass.
