10 + 167 - Most assists for Premier League clubs in all competitions this season (mins/assist in brackets):
11 - Bukayo Saka (200)
10 - Darwin Núñez (167)
10 - James Ward-Prowse (232)
9 - Julián Álvarez (232)
9 - Pascal Groß (243)

We all thought we were buying a Haaland but actually we bought a De Bruyne instead
Also, said it before but I'll say it again. We are so lucky to have 5 forwards who all can do something different on the pitch. Credit to Gakpo for his goal last night, his ability to score 6 yard tap ins is unmatched, but his movement/positioning for that goal was like a 30-something, not a 24yo.
I watched all our goals this season and Nunez is involved in loads that won’t add to his stats. There were three where he hit the post but we scored on the rebound and a couple where he’s rocketed it at the keeper who spilled it and again we score on the rebound.
I know he misses a few but all round I feel he’s essential to us at times.

His first touch really is very good. He brought a ball down by the corner flag last night that was football pawn

Put Elliott in the same boat too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep although I’ve a feeling he’s going to take a little longer. At RWF he can be nullified by athleticism a bit. At 8 he has an awful lot to learn, especially off the ball.
Physically Grav is ideal for his position but his decision making is sometimes waaay off. I’ve little doubt he’ll get there though.
Hopefully Klopp extends and can oversee their development into their prime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Elliott is an odd one in my mind. I think he's a tremendous talent on the ball, doesn't hide on the pitch and wants to impact the game. But I still don't really know what he is.
He has slight Shaqiri vibes for me. All the talent you could want on the ball but not really a winger and slightly uncomfortable as an ACM. I think he probably has to be a midfielder so I agree, if he is going to be a top class midfielder then it's going to take time.

Yeah, agreed. I wrote this on the match thread but...
Think it’s probably horses for courses isn’t it? Some teams/defences won’t do well against Numez’s pace, energy and directness. Some won’t like Jota’s clever movement in the box, some won’t like Gakpo dropping off and having the wider players take that space.
The point is, we have options. If one route of attack is looking comfortable for a defence then try another type of threat. Late in a game when physically tired, being that mentally switched on is a challenge for the opposition.

He's a very intelligent player too. Always looking for and finding space. If we could cross him with Nunez to get Nunez's physicality and Gakpo's touch and awareness then we'd have a monster of a number 9.
Yeah there's not much wrong with our forward options tbh
Just as a team, we need to get the balance right

So not all five on the pitch at the same time?!
Gakpo is a brilliant finisher, there was never any doubt about that. There is a lot else in his game that needs work, and a lot of work, however.

Grav just needs to stop treating the pitch as some ice skating rink.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not the first to suffer that. Perhaps a change of boots might help.
Harvey Elliott clocks up 13.2km distance covered per 90 minutes this season, more than any Liverpool player (of those to play five or more games).
Curtis Jones is next on 12.6km.

These two are really stepping up this season and leading by example when it comes to work rate.
Chelsea have lost 31 games since the start of last season

Very weird to see Spurs being decisive in the transfer market. Great window so far from them

Both a bit of an unknown quantity. I’ve actually always liked Werner, but I also like Havertz so…
must be tough for the RBs coming through, no real future here unless happy to be an occasional rotation option (as i dont see trent moving into midfield, maybe he will in a few years but i doubt it..)

big upg on dier who isnt that good anyway but definitely not in the system the new manager wants. Thig kids promising with a lot of good attributes and suits the new manager and versatility to give a few options.
Werner still got potential entering his peak years now, some of the best movement going imo, even in a relatively defensive Chelsea side he created so many chances for himself with top movement. Maybe he has a point to prove and unfinished business in the prem. Ange could be a good fit for him too.
£25m for a CB in the January window is pretty good business to be fair to Spurs. Obviously he could turn out to be bobbins but he's highly rated by the sound of it.

Why? Serious question actually. I never saw him play in Germany so maybe it's me missing something but from his time in England, I don't see what there is to particularly like as a player.
I like him too, always felt Havertz could be a good Firminio foil
If we’d signed Havertz and Werner they’d have lit up the league. Felt they’d compliment each other very well under Klopp.
