It's definitely a composure thing.

Yesterday being the perfect example where Nunez could have either shot or cut it back to Dom, and instead it ended up being a mix of both.

Also feels a bit like we sometimes overcomplicate things as in that same move I though Diaz had a pretty simple shot but instead squared it to Nunez aiming for the tap in.

I've lost count the amount of times we have been on the break with player advantages and still find a way to miss

The one yesterday where Nunez missed the goal completely after Diaz inexplicably passed it when he was through on goal nearly made my throw my remote at the screen.

Diaz should have defo buried that. The pass to Nunez was poor and like Welsh said Nunez then lacked composure and did absolutely nothing with it.

Nunez lacking composure? Surely not…

I love the chaos he brings but i also think the fact our attacking is always chaos is why we lack composure.

Has Nunez scored against the big 6 (traditional) this season?

Another 5 on 2 situation yesterday. I make that at least 3 this season we have screwed up in epic fashion.

Gakpo lucky he wasn't involved in that one.

It's Salah's fault this week

I don't know what to say about this.

If our conversion rate in front of goal was that much higher it would mean an extra goal and a half every game which would break all the records in the history of football.

posted on 8/4/24

That's the downside of using the press or counter press as chief creator of chances...sometimes when the players aren't on it, it looks bad

Shows how fvcking good this team would be if we could score chances at a higher rate than Luton then doesn’t it...

I think we're in a bit of a weird situation this year where we score plenty against the mid table teams downwards but seem to lack all finishing ability in the bigger games.

12 goals in 9 games against the traditional top 6 but remove the 4-1 v Chelsea and it's 8 in 8.

That could be explained if we were simply being kept at bay, but it's not like we haven't had the chances in the vast majority of those games.

That's why for me it's more about players getting used to each other and building chemistry and confidence in a new team or with new team mates. Our whole starting midfield joined us like 7 months ago. Apart from Salah, VVD, Robbo, everyone else should technically still be a newby or a kid. Think about that for a minute.

If we'd scored at the rate City do (who are only 6th best themselves) then we'd pretty much be on course to equal their 106 goals in a season record. Last season was dreadful in so many ways but even if we'd converted at last years rate we'd have another 10 goals.

I'm conscious of recency bias when saying this but I think we've created as many, if not more, chances this season than any I can remember under Klopp. We really have missed a lot of opportunities.

The only thing I'd say as a caveat to the stats is that I think we're generally more willing to shoot this year, definitely some speculative efforts in our shot column. And when I say 'we', I kinda mean Nunez

posted on 8/4/24

We definitely are trying more efforts from range this season.

How can anybody claim that the penalty was a dive?! I don’t think I’ve seen a more blatant penalty all year.

It’s the same old story. Every decision in our favour will be wrong and anything against us nothing will be said. They’ll know it was a blatant penalty, but it’s just a built in bias. It’s a bit pathetic really.

It’s the lack of coverage with the Ben White incident that’s baffling me. If that was Nunez for example, there would be twenty articles on it.
