I think Jones is suited to international football. Need players with good ball retention rather than runners like Hendo. Not sure that Southgate knows how to fit Jones into the side though.

My personal opinion is that he’s going nowhere, not this summer at least. The only links I’ve seen to Madrid are on sites like Football 365, which basically operate by trying to join dots and coming up with a scenario that fits. I’ve not seen any of the regular Liverpool associated journo’s suggesting he could be off. I think sites are seeing he’s not signed a contract yet, see he’d be a good fit at RM, is close to Bellingham and obviously upheaval at our club, and it makes a very easy story that ‘makes sense’.

I do think he’ll be off at some point, he’s too good to not want to prove himself elsewhere. But I think he’ll want to give our new era a go first and see how it goes.
