Only saw the highlights but it looks like we played ourselves into trouble a lot but United weren't clinical in the box whereas we were. Kelleher and Jaros both made some good stops. From what I've seen, if the big ginge goes, then Jaros is adequate backup to Ali.

We played some lovely stuff for our goals. We definitely seem to be happy to get to the byline and cut the ball back under Slot, which I think we under utilised in Klopp's system.

its interesting watching us take more risks playing between the lines and the shape/movement. Obviously needs more work, i felt 2nd half we controlled the game better when the kids came on, obviously had most time working with Slot so it makes sense.Nyoni late on sprinting from central midfield to take up the left wing spot and stood there until it was worked wide to him shows the fluidity slot wants.

In all three games the way we have played out from the back has made me nervous. Although with the likes of Alisson and VVD coming in, this may look a lot better.

Hopefully he's just rusty but Konate looked poor with the ball at feet.

How did Grav play last night? It looks like he cut his holiday short to get some US pre season which is good to see.

The most important thing in these games is to see a clear build up and pressing structure. We will improve when our best players come back.

I thought we had problems in our build up against the 4222 system of Man United whereby their wingers were positioned inside which closed our central passing options. We were forced to the sidelines and this was the trigger for them to press us. Konate tried to pass the ball through the middle a few times but was intercepted because Man United overload that area.

Mac Allister is the most important player in this new style.You need a player there who is press resistant and can break the lines. Jones isn't that guy.
