Doesn't sound right thinking about it, but that's mad if true.

We're being linked with Rabiot alongside Zubimendi too

Yes and the delay is down to the player who is still confused ffs.

My colleague just pointed out a quite hilarious stat. Chelsea have signed 35 players under Boehly, and our 35th signing ago was Joe Gomez.

I really hope that's just nonsense.

I've said on hear before that I find some of the critiques for Rabiot a little OTT but I just don't see him as being suited to the EPL at all. For dominant teams in Serie A and international football, sure. I think the pace of the league will overwhelm him, little bit like Veron.

Plus surely we'll just play AMA alongside Zubi (should that ever happen).

Signing Rabiot would be truly awful business.

Chelsea are just becoming a parody of themselves now. They are absolutely ridiculous.

That said, Neto could be a very good signing if he can stay fit.

I’m not as big a fan of Neto as many. I suspect he’ll find it harder going at Chelsea against deeper defences, plus his goal return is really quite awful anyway.

Sociedad journos said this weekend a few days ago. They either don't have a clue or he's still unsure which would be ridiculous.

I'm hoping this is all just a show to make it look like Sociedad tried their hardest to keep him because it's really starting to drag now.

So it seems McConnel is also now sending cryptic messages like Bobby Clarke they he is about to leave the club.

Why are we selling rather than loaning the player? Are we that desperate for the money?

Yeah I get the delay for a few days while Zubimendi took some time to make a decision, but its time he made one now.

The "led to believe..." comment about the Zubimendi deal by Joyce is concerning, I would expect some news today, if not I will start to feel more pessimistic.

Can't fathom how (as it stands currently) we are weaker as a squad after selling Carvalho, with no signings and no contact renewals, a few days before the season kicks off.

Hughes and Edwards bloody well better have some irons in the fire or there will be a hell of a lot of cheesed off Liverpool fans. Their new manager needs to be given a chance and needs to be backed

I read the other day, think it was Joyce, that we needed to sell the likes of Carvalho and Clark in order to raise funds for the Zubimendi deal. No idea if its true, but absolutely pathetic if it is.

Don't think money has anything to do with it.

Those 2 are unfortunately in the worst possible position if you want to break into this Liverpool side right now.

Bar Endo all our midfielders are under 25, and all are better players who will in theory also improve. It's unlikely Clark is going to surpass the likes of Elliott and Szobo, just as it is unlikely Mcconell will surpass Bacjectic and hopefully Zubimendi.

Just bad timing on their part sadly.

Thing I don't understand with press reporting things like this; how on earth would they know that?!

There must be a dozen people (tops) who genuinely know what the clubs capacity and willingness to invest in the squad is, why would any of them wander off and tell a journalist (Joyce or any other). Seems mad to me.

Yep and we took a loan out to pay for the Szobo transfer fee too.

Loans with interest rather than owners putting the money up.

Can't see that being true in order to raise funding for Zubimendi.

We've already rejected an £8.5m bid for Clark, which we'd surely accept if we needed cash to get this deal done.

Supposedly we want circa £15m for him, which doesn't indicate we're desperate to me.

We should be asking for 15m plus considering City and Chelsea are selling kids who have not kicked a ball for much more.
