Spurs went 18 months without signing anyone, during their most successful period in modern times, when one or two big players for big fees attracted by CL football was all they arguably needed to get over the line and win something. The issue for Spurs is that they’re sixth in the pecking order for players, and that’s just in England.

It also comes down to wages, which we spend vastly more on than them, and 99% of clubs in the world.

Yeah that school of thought is absolute nonsense.

In reality Klopp left a great squad which he'd have loved to have taken over but he just couldn't give his all anymore.

We have a new manager who has been putting his own stamp on the squad which has looked positive so far. A number 6 would have been great but we're still in an excellent position in regards to the squad.

Ask any spurs fans and that summer when they did not invest it cost them and the manager and they went backwards. Obviously they were paying for a new stadium.

Same scenario for Arsenal. They did not invest for a good few seasons while Emirates was being built and 21 years laters still no PL or UCL

A lack of spending this summer with a view to a major rebuild post Salah and VVD as per Melissa Reddys comments.

Just for context, we’re the only club in English pro football not to sign a player and we’re the only club in Europes top six leagues too.

I mean that’s weird in itself, but when a new manager comes in??? Literally unheard of.

Why would I compare a football institution like Liverpool to Wolves when it comes to wages? We have way more staff than Wolves. What a desperate argument to make.

TheAthleticFC: Leny Yoro's medical scans showed a possible metatarsal issue when he joined United.
