After his performances this season I reckon someone will pay over 30m for him in the summer.

People have been saying that for at least 2 years now

Thats disgusting if that happens, wtf does a player have to do to earn a place then? I'd be embarrassed to accept it if i was Ali too ngl, id just say nah that aint right.

EmbarrassedYou really need to stop drinking or whatever it is you take, it turns you into a massive drama queen. I’ve no issue if Kelleher keeps his place, but Allison is the best keeper in the world, it’s frequently said on these very pages in almost every game he plays. If slot wants him straight back in then what makes you think you know better?

It aint about knowing better its about doing the right thing.

Best case scenario is to send Kelleher on loan next season and then make a call if Ali wants to move on in 2026. Kelleher and Mama could then fight for number 1 spot.

Cant afford to do that unless he signs a new contracts hes in his last year come the summer isnt he?

posted 2 hours, 7 minutes ago

I wonder if he’d sign a new long term contract if we pay him well and say we will get you a 2 year loan and then youll be no1 after it.

The new gk must be sumin special if weve gone and spent that much on a gk when we have alisson kelleher and jaros!

Kelleher wants to leave to be first choice...we've known that for about 2 years now as well

posted 2 hours, 4 minutes ago

But he's not gonna kick up a fuss if we don't sell for the price we feel is right...but also in my opinion the longer we drag our heels regarding the price the more we run the risk of him leaving on a free

Ik and cant blame him and we should do the best by him in that regards. Just feels like a mistake now. People are all sentimental with an ageing injury prone keeper who doesnt look after himself that well either. Stated why i feel itd be wrong if Alisson walks straight back in and i stand by it even if he is the best keeper in the world. I think the points i made hold more weight than any of that and ill be gutted for the lad if its the case. As i would ve for any player producing those levels and then lose their place as soon as another player comes back whoever it may be.

As a general point, I can't think of a single example of genuine competition for a goalkeeping place creating a positive outcome.

Maybe someone else can but GK is a pretty unique position and if the player knows that one mistake and the other guy takes your place, it puts enormous pressure on. We saw it last year with Raya and Ramsdale, I don't think it does a team any favours.

Personally I think the ideal situation is a fantastic first choice keeper and someone you trust to come in and play without a huge drop in quality when needed. We have that, we're very lucky.

Kelleher is a superb keeper. He deserves to move on and be a number one.

We have treated him pretty rubbish by bringing in Marmadashvillli to be honest.

Or maybe the club knows something that's not really public knowledge as yet

Maybe, Roy said for Ireland though hes a top lad and makes other gks look lazy etc so i doubt its anything regarding training/attitude. Hes been so patient with us, he should have had loans and much more games under his belt. Reminds me a bit of Martinez in that regard, he didnt play much until he was 29?

posted 1 hour, 37 minutes ago

Anyway in this form you could argue its done him good

I didn't mean anything bad...maybe the club knows at least one of them are destined to leave at the end of this season and was proactive in their approach to secure a GK

Hopefully Marmiteville is just that good we had to move.

He's been good but never performed as well as he is at the moment. He looks the real deal. Teams in the Prem and abroad would be mad not to go for him after this season as he has shown he is better than what most teams have.

I imagine even a team like Forest or Palace or Wolves could put together a 30m bid for a top solid keeper that can serve them for 5-10 years.

posted 1 hour, 24 minutes ago

Theres so many sheit keepers in the prem they should be looking at tloans for Jaros too

_____________
It looks like itd be their best investment in a long time anyone who can get him for around 30m. I think we should be tryna get a buyback clause in there too. Might even be worth selling 10m cheaper if it makes the buyback clause 10-15m cheaper too.

Ideally though we can use him to strengthen, so to a good club who has a player we wanna buy, to sweeten the deal and soften the blow for both sides. Brighton Baleba for example, wolves Gomes maybe?

who were the clubs rumoured to have bid 20-25m, anyone know? was it palace and forest?

Tbh, there aren't a huge number of clubs in the EPL that Kelleher wouldn't be and upgrade for - us, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Villa. That's about it imo.

The question is who would prioritise £30m'ish on a keeper. Would the bigger clubs like Chelsea and Newcastle see enough of an upgrade to invest?

i know it was a dodgy deal involving 40m for that bang average anderson kid but Newcastle padi 20m for a 30 year old keeper from forest ive never heard of or seen since, Odysseas Vlachodimos?

Wolves spunked 10m up the wall for 31 year old sam johnson from Palace, who themselves paid 15-20m for dean facking henderson

posted 1 hour, 4 minutes ago

Chelsea have just bought 2 new keepers 20-25m each for a 19 year old and 21 year old keeper?

posted 1 hour, 4 minutes ago

Alisson will come straight back in and rightly so. He’s still better with his feet regardless of Kelleher’s form and deserves his place for being arguably the best keeper in the world and our history. That’s not hyperbole btw, it really is between him and Clemence.

The only thing we’ve done poorly with Kelleher is maybe not accepting those bids last summer, but that’s looking a great decision now and will probably lead to Kelleher getting a better contract at a superior club too so all’s well that ends well.

The signing of a new keeper is a bit off I guess, but we saw an opportunity and took it. That’s football.

Kelleher has got to play in some massive games and also develop at Liverpool under pretty much no pressure. There’s not too many reserve keepers who’ve got to play in as many finals and big games as him, and this summer it’s time for him to go out and be number one somewhere.

Good luck to him.

I guess I was wrong about Mbappe being overrated!
He seems the real deal
