He’s played so much football though over 6-7 years. He never get injured and he’s only human. Give him a break.

It’s got nothing to do with giving him a break, it’s an opinion about him as an effective option going into next season and if a big offer comes in from Saudi.

FFS, I’m bored of that now.

I was actually trying to find who was giving Gakpo loads of stick and are now jizzing over him.

I gave him plenty of stick and it looks like I was well wide of the mark. Always said his first touch was class but other areas I didn’t fancy.

He looks fitter, quicker and his calmness is a joy to watch. I’ve got that pretty wrong tbh.

mainly ppl didnt like him as the 9 right? Pretty sure i said i can see why hes there cause hes good on the half turn and running with the ball but if hes to play there needs to bulk up use his size better etc in this league.

im pretty lenient on players tho, nunez tsimikas elliott etc ive prob been the biggest def of most lol.

Tbf, it’s not actual criticism I have an issue with. It’s the mockery of players that play for the team people apparently support that bugs me.

Constructive stuff and observation is fine, coming out with stuff like ‘Gakpoo’ is really childish.

have to say for he did seem to gain pace out of nowhere around the time of the last euros he was gr8 for the dutch. he can go either way and has the pace over a few yards to do it.

gakpoo is funny tho and if i say it im certainly not being serious same with spoonez or w.e, i can laugh at myself i can laugh at my team. I though its a british trait, you know? isnt it called self deprecation?

I always say judge a player once they’ve had two full seasons in the prem. Gakpo hasn’t even had that yet as he joined us in January two years ago but the improvement is clear to see. Really developing into an intelligent high quality footballer.

Nunez meanwhile has had two and a half seasons with us and hasn’t improved at all really, arguably he has regressed in that time.

I think Gakpo was one of our ‘opportunistic’ signings and Klopp struggled to fit him in and get the best out of him.

Nah Pep called him a missing link. He was very much a target, but were forced to move 6 months early.

Nunez has certainly regressed under Slot. Under Klopp he always looked like it could click for him, he was frequently showing glimpses of what he was capable of. That has been few and far between this season and his confidence is shot.

He could well be one that I got wrong.
