Unfortunately you are wrong.

Liverpool will continue to play at this level for the next 2 seasons. They could win the PL either season.

After that they will fall back to 5th/6th place for a couple of years before another cycle begins.

Liverpool did not play the best football this season. City played the best football.

Equally massive chance blown by us. The title was up for grabs this year.

There's no such thing as playing above your level. They had the best team chemistry and the most terrifying frontline in the league. If they strengthen well, which they should have the funds to, there's no reason they can't have another fantastic season.

We can improve upon this season without doubt, like you say player for player we dont have the best team but we are as good as any team in the country, so its down to the coaching, what happens when we get a few cl quality players in, surly with the same coaching and better players we should improve no? Its not an exact science but evidence suggests with better players we will improve.

So many fans cant wait to tell us that we cannot improve, its strange. Also id imagine the players will be just as hungry and intense next season after coming close this year and also having cl football to play, makes very little sense to suggest they will suddenly not have the same desire to win as we saw this season.

why would scousers regard gerrard any less for an accidental slip. It wasn't down to negligence it was a mistake that can happen anywhere on the pitch, sadly for him his was at a critical one.

Liverpool can improve, they have glaring defensive problems, which they can focus and yes the league will probably be tighter.

I think Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal fans will rue plenty of situations that could have changed their league season.

Liverpool's football towards the latter season was probably on par with city's early on at home. Both were great to watch.

The summer transfer window will tell us if Liverpool are to improve or not. Rodgers hasn't made any outstanding signings, Sturridge aside.

I genuinely don't know if Rodgers will bring in top quality players. As I say, time will tell.

as a gooner i must doff my cap to pool , truly wonderful season by liverpool with suarez being the catalyst for all there achievements -

Henry missed a one-on-one sitter around the 78th minute that may have wrapped up the '05/06 CL final against Barca. I'm sure Arsenal fans don't hold it against him. It's no different with Gerrard for Liverpool.

godfather no not at all, hes our ccaptain and one of the reasons we were in the position where his slip has become so infamous.

Hes done so much for lfc, like i said youd want to be an awful fan to hold it against gerrard, players make mistakes but gerrards done far more good for the team then costly errors.

Liverpool have had a better season than Arsenal, but let's not get carried away with Brenda and start proclaiming him as a better manager than managers than have been doing things for years he could only dream of.

My heart broke when Sakho slipped though. Such a let down.

Everyone team always expects to push on and improve in the next season but in reality some regress, imo Chelsea, City and Arsenal are guaranteed top 4 next season and the rest will fight for the other spot.

we didn't 'blow' anything. we won 11 straight matches then lost to Chelsea. So did City. Twice.

and the whole thing is completely condescending about the quality of players when your front 3 on your best day is Podolski, Giroud, and Walcott.

You've got some top quality attacking mids but at the end of the day a front 3 of Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge wipe the floor with your options not because they overacheived, but because you got so full of yourself and arrogant you couldn't see they were a significant step up from what you had on offer.

Depth you clean our clocks twice over. Fair enough.

But this condescending crap is just rubbish. So either you overestimate the quality in your side while underestimating the quality in ours, or this is an outright WUM.

We didn't have a purple patch, we scored 3,4 and 5 goals a week most weeks even if it meant conceding one less than we scored.

Suarez and Sturridge have been sh&t for almost 2 months now but we kept winning and scoring from other players. We had a great run of form when Suarez was banned the end of last season.

It's not the Suarez show even though he's a very, very big part of our success.

I've always had a lot of time and respect for Arsenal and a lot of mates who support you, but the neverending shiite on here makes me regret that sometimes.

last time pool finished second we all know what happened

arsenal are as much guaranteed top 4 next season as we are 8bit, neither of us are guaranteed it
