Would take him back in a heartbeat. Love Masch!
Big no. He sulked for about 18 months last time until we agreed to sell him. Don't want him back.
If Lucas is moving on he would be perfect. We will need some experience in the CL and he can fill in on a number of positions including the one Gerrard is playing at the moment.
Yes of course, and now he has experience playing at right centre back, which is something we need, as Skrtel is a liability.
Trophy wise he was successful at Barca but they have messed with his development. Once the best DM in the world but at Barca he was a makeshift defender.
He can only play in midfield in the Prem.
I would take him back.
Experience, winner, would give us a nasty side.
He could never play at the back in the Premier League. As an emergency maybe but not long term. I'd take him back, certainly.
Best dm in the world?
Jesus Christ this forum makes me laugh.
As an opposition fan it would be good to see mascherano back, with his discipline would be a liability.
Defo take him back but to play in midfield, don't think he'd be a great cb in the pl, to be honest Barca is the only club in the world that would play him as a cb.
He near enough went on strike last time. I'm confused as to why you lot think it'd be a good idea to welcome him back with open arms.

We were all annoyed when he didn't play v City that day, but you're claiming 18 months of sulking which is ridiculous.
Plus it was Barca coming calling you can understand him forcing a move, he's not the first or last player to do something similar.
To stop us signing a player cause of a grudge is detrimental to the teams progress, would you not take Alonso back if we'd a chance of getting him?
Knee.
Alonso didn't try and engineer a move and disrupt the club in the process.
IMO bringing Masch back would be detrimental to the team's progress.
I don't know I think you're making a big deal out of it, I'd have him back anyway. I don't hold a grudge really in football and still think he's a top player and one who would instantly improve our midfield.
If the price was good I'd have no qualms takign him back.
Am i missing something?
Does'nt his wife hate england, which he used as the reason for wanting out? As far as i know she still has'nt learnt english and the weathers still sheite

That was all BS. He wanted out because he was aware we were about to sink fast with the cowboys and Roy at the helm. Added to that Barca wanted him, how many south american players would not want their chance at Real or Barca?
I hold no grudge. Hes a top player and would add leadership, winning mentality, experience and steel in a key area of the pitch for us.
Bit of honesty wouldnt have gone amiss,it's why we dislike torres.Same thing.
Mascherano was not sulking for 18 months...
Ludicrous to suggest so..
He was as disillusioned as anyone with Hicks and Gillet - but what really tipped him over the edge was Rafa getting sacked, replaced by Hodgson, who bought Poulsen..
Bloke was ambitious and fair play to him playing for Barca... at least he didnt wind down his contract and leave on a free like Macca
Says he's leaving Barcelona and a few other may be too. He's another who we'd welcome back and probably would want a return as well. Wouldn't cost that much as he's in last year of contract. Verdict = unlikely to join.
Well thanks for that contribution.

Alonso wanted to leave also bit he's regarded as a saint. Many players wanted to leave when they saw what was going on at the club.
Kolo Toure was meant to add experience and look how that turned out
