Exactly! We just didn't pay him enough to afford a fancy car to dangle out of!
Can you imagine the purchases we would end up with if he had been given money to spend!

Lol...It would basically look like QPR's squad
I could see squads and formation posted on a notice board just outside the training centre to save time with chatting to staff
IMO the reason why the “media” have made a great deal about it is that ultimately the club afforded Sherwood no respect whatsoever.
Sherwood’s record (compared to recent Spurs managers) was fairly good (think it was the best in a decade?) and just when the club needed a degree of stability Levy (true to form) shows him the door.
He was always only part time.
Ridiculous the amount of hate he received from some of the fans when he was far from a disaster. We've had worse recently, people have short memories.
If you want to look at someone to blame then its Levy and board.

For me I think it was disrespectful to pretend that he was the Tottenham manager when I think deep down we all knew he was the caretaker manager. Still struggling to understand why he was offered 18 months and not 6.
We are not privy to the contents of the agreement between the Club & Tim Sherwood are we?
I would suggest that the contract did indeed have clauses including the "Break" clause that Levy said the Club had decided to activate.
If we had reached 4th spot & qualified for the CL, then things might have been different, however I still think that Sherwood is too experienced at this point to be managing a top club & he would be better cutting his teeth on either a Championship or lower PL side like West Ham or West Brom.
I don't hate Sherwood, I think he has been naive in lots of ways in terms of tactics and his dealings with the media.
This was fundamentally obvious when he decided to experiment with Kyle Walker in midfield V Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Remind me how that one turned out again?
Sherwood may have gotten results but he was a toss manager, tactically outclassed by all the major teams, acting like a complete child on some occasions, especially in his post match interviews. Spurs were right to get rid, fluck all this "sacking culture" bullplop, if a guys not good at his job, he shouldn't keep the job.
Pochettino will be a good fit for Spurs I think. Shaping up to be a real hum-dinger of a season.

I think Levy gave him the 18 months contract for a couple of reasons: If Sherwood brought about a miraculous turnaround & qualified for CL, he could claim it was good executive decision making.
Secondly he knew that at worst he would only be paying Sherwood around £1m as a payoff!
Levy is right to get rid but Levy is still clueless for having appointed him, and deserves all the criticism he's getting.
The news this morning is that Liverpool are worried that if Pochettino goe to Spurs, Lallana may opt to follow him as well as players like Lovren etc...............

It's all about opinions, Sherwood wound me up with his management style and unprofessional press conferences.. his interview with Shreeves was particularly cringworthy.. and I still haven't seen him thank the club or chairman for giving him the opportunity.. just pleading for sympathy and playing the "poor English manager" card.
Obviously Levy is responsible for hiring him but that's a separate issue. If he gets the next one wrong, or sacks him too soon the knives will be out

...unless it's Moyes
Junction..................................The problem is that Levy has tens of millions tied up in the club & he has a 29.4% shareholding in ENIC (who are the actually owners of THFC), with the other 70.6% owned by Joe Lewis.
Lewis has a variety of companies Worldwide & is known to be fiercely loyal to his senior executives who head up his interests.
Therefore removing Levy is not as simple as one might think! The easiest way is most likely when or if the Club gets sold in the future!

I disagree.
Irrespective of Sherwood’s ability as a coach (although his record appears to be best Spurs have had in over a decade) it is apparent that every man and his dog knew Sherwood was going to be sacked, apart from Sherwood himself. Whether he was a caretaker, stop gap, or whatever the least the club could have done is shown him a degree of respect by informing him of their intentions.
The uncertainty was also exacerbated by the erroneous statements made by Levy that the club had not been in contact with anyone else when it was obvious that they had.
I suggest the problem lies elsewhere given the number of managers (and their pedigree) Levy has disposed of, and expect Pochettino will suffer the same fate as his countless predecessors.

And exactly how do you know they haven't told him????

It is palpable from comments made by those associated and close to the club, that Sherwood had no idea whatsoever what the club were planning.
Sherwood ‘s “supply teacher” comments also refer.
Clive Allen’s radio interview last night were revealing too.
