It is palpable from comments made by those associated and close to the club, that Sherwood had no idea whatsoever what the club were planning.

Seems to me the break clause in the contract was clear.
Tim's embarrassed himself by talking himself up, suggesting he should have full control of transfers and a 10 year contract.. far more misleading than the club refusing to talk about confidential negotiations with other clubs.
It is palpable from comments made by those associated and close to the club, that Sherwood had no idea whatsoever what the club were planning.
Sherwood ‘s “supply teacher” comments also refer.
Clive Allen’s radio interview last night were revealing too.
I am sorry, but it is naive of you to think that Sherwood did not have a clue that he might be leaving at the end of the season. Was he unaware of the "Break Clause" in his contract? I don't think so, it would have been a key element in the contract T&C's & his lawyers would have made him fully aware of it.
If Sherwood felt like a Supply School Teacher, that was only because he knew he was not going to be in charge after the season finished.
Sherwood knew full well what the club were planning, I knew back in January that this was going to be the outcome, as did many other Spurs supporters and also the media!

Maybe if this was an isolated incident I could acknowledge the club’s handling of the matter. However it is not a ‘one off’ and seems to be inherent with Levy’s administration.
Of course Sherwood would have been fully aware of the terms of his employment, however if Sherwood was aware of the clubs intentions why did Levy make so many misleading and inaccurate comments.
I suspect the truth is that Levy never considered him as an option but (as Sherwood obviously wanted the job) the club was not prepared to inform him of this until they had a replacement secured.

All somewhat speculative.
It’s a given that no manager should retain their position if they are underperforming, however when compared to his predecessors, and with a squad he inherited, Sherwood was performing reasonably well.
As I mentioned earlier I believe the club never wished to retain Sherwood but were not prepared to advise of their intentions until a replacement was secured.

Not sure which comments are you referring to?
Levy has made NO PUBLIC statements porior to Sherwood leaving!
If it is the Club denial that Spurs have not approached Ajax re De Boer, That is certainly open for debate, however I don't think they have denied speaking to his representatives, have they?
Genius Greaves
I acknowledge that the statements were not directly attributed to Levy per se however it is inconceivable that he did not sanction the club’s position.
And yet he has won more PL medals that Steven Gerrard
Regardless of the excellent job he did at Spurs, he is still a novice manager with a limited CV.
Considering he had absolutely no experience of managing, and to still take a big club like ours further up the table, with a very decent games-to-points ratio, to improve the goal difference from minus to plus, within just 5 months is quite remarkable - and its a credit to him that after just 5 months he is being lined up to take the hot seat for clubs like West Brom, Norwich, Brighton, or whoever.
Too many managers are spoilt these days and just get handed top clubs and fail, without having to build up their CV from lower down.
When AVB failed miserably at Chelsea, he should never have had the privilege of walking straight into another top position like the Spurs job. He should have been made build up a reputation in this country before being handed a club like ours.
I look forward to see what Tim's next project is, i wish him luck (as long as it doesnt directly affect us) and i wonder how long it will be until we start hearing "We should have stuck with Tim and given him a chance".

....its not meant to be an "i told you so", i just think TS deserves credit for what he achieved, in just 5 months of management.

One thing that isn't being mentioned (or i haven't read it!) is the fact that we went out of every cup competition when Sherwood took over so he only had to concentrate on the league which i feel contributed to his PL win %. AVB had to juggle the league and cups.
Sssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Chicken will not agree!
Full back killer,

Of course i totally agree with that, but its also fair to say that the cup games in the second half of the season are generally more difficult, ie. Tromsø, Dinamo Tbilisi, Sheriff and Anzhi Makhachkala are easier opposition than Benfica or Arsenal, for example.
We should have beaten West Ham in the QF though but they seemed to be our bogey team of the 2013-2014 season
