Some of Townsends deliverys were excellent last night! right in the danger zone!
Very impressed with Livermore, I hope both play every game in the Europa
I think Livermore will be the first name on the teamsheet for our next Europa League game(s) after that performance.
Townsend did okay, i liked his confidence when he came on, shooting from long range with his supposed weaker right foot & he did a couple of decent runs.
I think players like Townsend just need to learn when to pass & when to run. When he gets this right, i think he'll be a good player. Good enough for Spurs? i'm not sure. We'll see.
And yes, its great to see players coming through the system.
I think players like Townsend just need to learn when to pass & when to run.

i agree, coaches will have a big impact on that.
however its also very refreshing to see a player try to use both skill and pace to beat a man, not just pace and power (bale), or raw raw pace (lennon)
of course bale and lennon are clearly far better players than townsend at the moment, but i was just highlighting their differences in approach.
Agree totally he was different gear last night, he made the right runs to support VDV and Defoe at the right times, I can't find the stats but he hardly lost the ball
I know the SPL is a shocking league, but you have to see that both played really well
Very impressed with both Livermore and Townsend
Not many players can say they have scored against Barcelona..even if it was a Pre-Season friendly
If we stay in the Cup competitions this season and dont get knocked out early like last year i can see both of them getting plenty of game time, and with our luck with injury's in midfield they will get more chances to impress
I still think Tommy and Luka should be our pairing in the League and FA Cup but Jake and Niko should be given gametime in the Europa for sure! they looked really good! on this showing I think we can make the last 16 if not further
Thudd - Slightly disagree with you on the FA Cup, its all about the league this season, it HAS to be, if we fail to get 4th, not only will we most likely lose a few players but we will fall further and further behind the likes of City, and dare i say Liverpool and Arsenal
Good Cup runs are a bonus in my opinion, of course i would love to see us lift a trophy but i would keep our strongest 11 for the PL
Thats fair enough RRP, I still would love to win the FA Cup, the top 3 places are already taken (City, Chelsea, United) not in that order mind you!
We will be scrapping it out for 4th with Arsenal and Liverpool imo!
Thudd - Oh of course an FA Cup win would be amazing, most likely as well! But i dont have THAT much love for the FA Cup, there is too much money and benefits in the league and getting into a CL spot than winning the FA Cup
4th place and an FA Cup win would be "Ok", nothing special

Thats how i see it going
Just seen Lawro's predictions for this weekend
I wonder how many months it will take before he predicts a Liverpool loss
What a horrible sport football has turned into, the fact that we could have a debate (i wont though) on whether we would rather finish 4th in a league or win the FA Cup.
Can you imagine going through your lifetime seeing your team consistently finish 2nd, 3rd & 4th in the league but never witness your club lifting a trophy.
In saying that, i know priorities have changed, i'm just saying its a sad thing.
We can literally say goodbye to 3rd place or higher until we are willing to spend 50million in one transfer window!.. football has changed so much!
I would like to see us challange for the Europa once we hit the last 16
Swagger Jagger, Swagger Jagger
You should get some of your own
Count that money, get your game on
Get yo game on, get your, get your game on
Chicken - Its all about the money and the CL these days
Maybe its because im in the younger football fan generation, but i just dont feel the magic of the FA Cup, in fact i would rather have a PL fixture than an FA Cup one
Having said that, i would still love a Cup win, but not at the expense of a CL place!
Thudd we have spent £50 million in one transfer window in the past, but for some reason when we most need too...we haven't
It is a great opportunity next week to play some of the other young Spurs, would love to see Kane get a chance

I know. I just think its a shame. The feeling i got from winning the FA Cup in 1991 far outweighed the feeling i got when we beat City to reach 4th. Its a shame that it should now be the other way around.
It makes me
I really want to know what goes into a transfer,
Fee - Agreed
Personal terms - Agreed
Medical - Agreed
Contract - Agreed
Anything else?
Chicken - It is a shame your right, but to be honest, its all i have known
When have you heard a player say he wants to win the FA Cup? Its always "I want to be playing in the CL"...and when players would rather just play in the CL and not win it, than WIN the FA Cup, that is sad
chicken.. all the young spurs generation coming through (like me) dont know what it was like to win all these trophies. in 1991 i was 5 years old.
i am with you rrp i get much more buzz for a league game than for a cup game
Chronic - Its not just me then! It certainly is a generation thing with the FA Cup, my Dad goes potty for the FA Cup, i think he said its because as a kid it was the only football every broadcasted on the TV, thats why it's special to him
Take this weekend for example, there is at least 6 football games on the TV
We have kept our soul! we work within our means and yes we have spent badly in the past but we always stay true to the fans and the players!
How many times do you see Spurs players diving? asking for yellow cards? harldy ever!
I can't wait for Monday, to sing my heart out for the club I love!
Thudd - HELLO HELLO.. We are the Tottenham Boys!!
Lets hope we can score some goals to get you
I hope we play well
I have a feeling on Pav to score in injury time for a 1-0 win
But thats not my prediction by the way
