we sold phil jones for 16 rising to 20 million plus the sale of kalanic 4-6mil ? if im not correct venkys if things go through today like they are hopefully going to we would have purchased ... in their tenure
rochine 1.5m
formica 3.5m
petrovic 3m
goodwillie 3m (2.8)
ribeiro free
vukcevic 3m
ibesovic 6m
venkys on the sale of 2 players would have purchased 7 players for the sale of 2 and still have their own money available for future windows brilliant business, bring these two boys in, and i will be in favour of venkys once more, even in favour of keen !!
But Jay this is all too logical and good for the club, I can't handle it, there must be something evil and asset stripping somewhere!
I'd somehow had my ever positive outlook shaken the other morning, I put that down to an argument with the woman and a bad nights sleep.
Positive and excited
You've forgotten the likely signing of George John, centre back from the MLS.
Henry Lansbury, seems like we are after him.
Also Onouha and Gibson keep getting mentioned, Raul supposedly not dead in the water.
By Sept 1st I think we will have an exciting and competitive squad.
Am i allowed to get slightly exited yet?........i think i'll wait until the end of the window to get really exited.
No doubt PieEater's Lobotomist's will have their own spin on these transfers.
hhaa as much as i love pie contribution to our little community he can be a bit tediud sometimes but i dont think i'd have him any other way!! ;D but yea lets just hope we can pull these transfers off, if they all get completed it would surely be the most we have EVER spent in two transfer windows
come on venkys see this through !
And you forgot Myles Anderson. How can you forget our one defensive signing!!
Seriously though Vukcevic sounds like a really good coup if it comes off. Know less about Ibsevic but wikipedia makes him sound good.
If these deals come off, no doubt the owners and Kean will deserve credit for putting together a young, exciting team whose potential can start being married together for the next couple of years. Truly would be exciting times.
Would like to see one or two more defensive signings however and keep hold of Samba!!
"it would surely be the most we have EVER spent in two transfer windows "
And the most we've ever sold
haha yea i suppose ;D but yea lets get the deals done, keep samba bring in a nother defender and yes how can i forget about anderson ... future club captain
so, back in the land of make-believe the little pixies are getting excited about "done deals" for players they have probably never seen play.
Hoffenheim deny an offer has been made for Ibisevic, so let's not assume that's definitely going to happen.
George John has 2 seasons experience in the MLS. Now we know from experience that you can get good players from the US, but the standard over there isn't great, so let's not act like we've definitely got ourselves a top class player there (if it happens).
SKL you are boring and u should go hide under a rock for a while i have see alot of vukcevic and as for ibisevic, i have seen him a few times and heard good things, you are most certainly a glass half empty guy aint ya
these forums deserve some positivity rather than your doom mongering give it a rest for a while and jump on the positive band wagon even if its all speculation and hearsay
McTeeth, way too predictable. Jayrover, too much Mountain Dew Energy.
And for the record, some potentially decent transfer activity going on - my main gripe has been Kean being a bit of a tw.@ a lot of the time, not transfer activity.
Lobotomist........everything you have posted on ja606 has been anti Blackburn Rovers.
Irrespective of who the owners are and who the manager is,you find fault in anything related to our beloved Rovers.
I've now believe you are a dingle sir.
Dingle slur = cack. Clearly anti buIIshit like myself, not anti Rovers.
ahh mountain dew i like it, i have not partaken in a session of mountain dew debauchery for many a year!! but still up the rovers!!
Don't do it, an ungodly amount of sugar per moderately-sized bottle. Having said that, great stuff for meetings in the administrative jungle.
I retract the dingle slur.
I still believe that some people will not accept anything remotely positive that's coming out of Ewood at the moment. It reads like mockery of our club.
I expect that from fans of our local rivals, fans of "bigger" clubs and the bored media but not from Rovers fans.
I think SKL makes a good point to be honest. If we got excited about every player we've been linked to this summer we'd have been dissapointed about once a week for the last 3 months. Our current record seems to be about 1 transfer per every 20 rumours, so to be honest I can't be @ssed to go through the whole rigmarole of getting excited again until their names appears on the official website.
The other downer is that Kean doesn't have a clue about management and Venkys don't have a clue about football. I think we can all agree on that yes? God knows there's been enough proof of it over the past 12 months. Bringing foreign players into the PL is a risky business, one because the PL is a step up from anywhere else, and two because the PL is a whole different style of play to adapt to.
Now if it were Hughes, Allardyce or any other good manager signing them then that risk is obviously reduced and there's a greater chance of success. If its the clown college that currently own/manage us then these guys have every chance of being as useless as Rochina and Myles Anderson (and I suspect Formica although at least he looked ok against one of the worst teams in the league at home).
I remember when I was 12 and just being linked to players was exciting. You know, that stage when you're too young to understand the actual game, and transfer speculation was the easiest thing to get into.
Bless.
Love your positive contributions Pee Wee - yep thats right every post you put up is whinging about another poster. The positivity you exude must run 100 hospitals just by yourself.
Im more excited about Petrovic to be honest, unless results go our way these transfers will mean nothing. Our defense has been all disorganised in the game against Wolves as well as in pre-season.
We need an experienced defender and Im baffled why our manager decides to play Rochina in the wrong position when he comes on.
"I remember when I was 12 and just being linked to players was exciting"
Now you're 15 and already lost the will to live.
"Love your positive contributions Pee Wee - yep thats right every post you put up is whinging about another poster"
I'll try and do better,It's just the way i am.
I see so many posts as an attack on our club and probably go over the top defending it in my own way.
I've been going to Ewood for 40 odd years and i've seen some bad teams, bad managers but also had the joy of '95.
After suffering the last few years with nothing to look forward to,what we have now(i know it's far from ideal),gives me plenty of reasons to get a bit exited. We are in the best position since JW took over and the negativity against our rookie manager and owners just for the sake of it just seems wrong to me.
Right no more slurs on other posters from me .
