Yaya and and Gerrard play in midfield. Rooney does not get the same space they do and is constantly closely marked.
Rooney being unable to control a ball is grossly exaggerated if we are calling a spade a spade
Macca, i was responding to your justification for his touch was because ' he ran a lot' ( i paraphrase).
Gerrard in his pomp used to be all over! And during Rafa's reign was up and down the pitch, he never had a problem controlling a football ( yes, he slips on occasion).
Ditto, Yaya. It is simply not an excuse for me in the slightest.

I believe it plays a part
Look at Messi. He's spends 88 minutes walking every game
I have no doubt that touch and ability on the ball is affected by energy levels

Your opinion on this would have more credence if you didn't continue this silly tirade against Messi.
I sometimes don't know if you are serious or teasing when belittle the magician's achievements.

I have never questioned Messi's ability. I just won't have it that he is the greatest player ever, or even close. That does not mean I have a tirade against him because I know he is utterly brilliant at what he does. And he has played in front of two midfielders I do rate as amongst the best midfielders ever
The guy rarely breaks sweat thought. That isn't made up
