Very interesting watch from a psychological standpoint.
Froch kept sipping his water which suggested he was getting dry mouth from lying! It took him until mid way through, when he discovered George was a poor smack talker to ease up and dominate the verbals.
Even then as he saw Groves getting more tense, swearing and devoid of verbal comebacks.he kept sipping his water, he is clearly rattled by George and is clearly suffering from an inferiority complex.
George looked worse as the interview went on, he did this glazy stare every time he didnt answer. He also mumbled his words and seemed clearly out of sorts.
My honest opinion is that Froch cannot see how he is gonna beat Groves, he also sees Groves a THE only thing standing in the way of any kind of legacy.
Interesting summary Mike, do you have a background in transactional analysis?
For me I'm bored of listening to them talk now. George May be a bright lad but this build up has showed him to be slow witted at times as you point out.
None of this makes any odds come fight night - George's career is in the ascendency and Carl will be retiring on the 1st of June.

Agree, rate Froch highly, but I've never seen him get so wound up, look so nervous and edgy, and let someone in his head like he has Groves, Groves is in his head plain and simple.
Groves has to start the 2nd fight like he started the 1st to continue shaking Froch up
No mate, just an armchair psych`.
I also believe that George is more confident than Carl. When u are an alpha male like Froch, to get put down and dominated by an upstart...its gonna scar.
Carl is not confident going into this fight, and knows his best chance to win is to tire George out and repeat the Jermaine Taylor performance.
Who wins? Can honestly see this being controversy central.
Froch is paranoid about everything
Froch is such a liar. Why didnt Johnny call him out on this.
He said he couldnt remember be knocked down right after the first fight. Now he says that was tongue in cheek
He called himself an international superstar and George isnt giving him enough credit. Now he says that was tongue in cheek. That's his stock response when anyone questions his contradictions.
You can just tell everything that comes out of his mouth is lies. George asked him what he said at the end of round 6 and Froch said "I dont know, I dont know" Once Groves said its all on tape, Froch said "Oh yeah I rememeber now."
He said he won the 1st fight fair and square and then said the stoppage was controversial. George said he's lying constantly. He's so right
Froch at the end "We can all pull about, have a little pull and a push"
Groves looked like a prat when he just stared at froch after johnny asked him a question, didn't look clever or smart just someone who couldn't come up with a answer so just stayed silent, froch despite his lame talking ability at least answers back
Froch answers back but its all lies and lies in a patronising manner.
Groves can make froch feel ridiculously uncomfortable by just staring at him

Bottom line, Froch is a boxer who has had a lot of bangs. We shouldn't expect much in the way of considered responses
Groves unfortunately at times reminds me of Joey Barton, he's actually a pseudo intellect and really should stop trying to be too clever
The first fight you'd say was Groves best chance to catch Froch cold. He caught him with good shots but couldn't put him away. That will linger at the back of his mind. Froch took his best and got the decision early stoppage or not.
Froch doesn't need to do anything other than remind Groves that he put him down & he got up, he fought the fight of his career and lost and that overall he tried everything he could and he still couldn't beat him. Groves lost yet talks like he won because he won a few rounds with some decent boxing. Many have done that in the past. It means nothing if you get stopped
Froch took the punishment and as soon as Froch stepped up the pace and started getting his own shots through Groves was in trouble!
Hard fight to call as who knows where Froch is as a fighter who has had tough fights. Groves might improve and he's clearly a decent boxer who has a chance. It might go the way of the first. Groves does well but gets worn down by the Cobra in the later rounds.

I thought Groves would spring a surprise in the first fight, as his style is all wrong for Froch.
However, I think the second fight might be harder for Groves this time and is more difficult to call.
If Groves can avoid being dragged into the trenches he should win, I think he can, but I see Froch being very dangerous in the latter rounds.
As for the gloves are off. I thought Froch came out of it better. He picked Groves up on his grammar (correctly) which completely threw him . Groves resorted to his Paddington stare which was a poor repost. Groves looked frustrated and slightly rattled throughout.
