If we got one of Shaw, Lallana or Rodriguez...I'd be very happy.
Shaw would be the most needed, but is the least likely.

We only need Shaw...
The rest will be a waste.
I do think Shaw would be most needed.
I also think Lallana and Rodriguez would offer a lot to the team. How ever the rest are better of staying at Southampton. It's not just the mail reporting it every paper and media site is jumping on the band waggon it was always going to be the case.
I don't think we should buy any midfielders.
Think Bentaleb will do well under MOP along with our other 152 million midfielders.
Rodrigues will be a risk with regards to his injury.
Also think Soldado will be better with the new system.
12/1 Southampton to go down...
Manager has gone...best players are leaving...Not bad 12/1..
You all happy that he's been given a 5 year contract?

Daily Fail
If they think Spurs have made no progress in the 13 years since ENIC/Levy took over then they are fools. Our problem is making that next step to being top 4 regulars. We have been top 4 challengers pretty much for the last 7 or 8 years but cannot quite crack that nut and make the next step - that's what we are striving to do but it takes something special if it is to be achieved without a sugar daddy.
10 years ago Arsenal ended the season unbeaten with double our 45 points....those dark days are well behind us now.
Villa are going the other way while Sunderland are a yoyo club. There's no comparison.
Top 4 is going to be a huge battle this season, anybody who stands still misses out.
Good news for Spurs and Utd fans is that the football can't really get any worse.

Paulinho out, Lallana IN would be some good business, especially if Chelsea's rumoured interest at £25m is for real.
Even if we can't get Lallana its worth pushing up the price so Liverpool (or whoever gets him) has to pay top dollar. (I am sure Poch knows what LFC have bid,, if they have).

2005/6 - 5th (Jol)
2006/7 - 5th (Jol)
2007/8 - 10th (Ramos)
2008/9 - 8th (Redknapp)
2009/10 - 4th (Redknapp)
2010/11 - 5th (Redknapp)
20011/12 - 4th (Redknapp)
20012/13 - 5th (AVB)
20013/14 - 6th (AVB/Sherwood)
I'd say being 4th or 5th 6 of the last 9 seasons fits my description.
I could see Schneiderlin coming in if we ditched Siggy, Livermore and maybe even Holtby if he's still insisting he's a deep lying mid.
Shaw would be a fantastic upgrade, but very expensive..supposedly gets on great with Pochettino but is that enough to turn his head from Man U?
Lallana if Paulinho is on his way out, I like him a lot and he definitely seems the sort who could bring Soldado into the game more.
Rodriguez I like but its a pretty serious injury so no guarantee how well he'll come back from it.
We will need at least one quality CB who can play high line so Lovren is probably one of the most likely of all of them.
I'd say being 4th or 5th 6 of the last 9 seasons fits my description.

Yeah? But, you don't want to accept Arsenal are title challengers despite of finishing near champions in the same period? Hypocrisy much?
Top 6 in 7 out of 9 seasons isn't bad
Progression
"Good news for Spurs and Utd fans is that the football can't really get any worse."
Indeed.
Playing as poorly as last season and still getting 69 points would have seen a Spurs supporter sectioned if they suggested that was possible 10 yrs ago.

Average PL position in the last decade : 6th.
<consolidification>
Average PL position since Levy as a chairman?
Lallana is a luxury and would be a complete waste of money, he has had one good season, and is price has suddenly rocketed. No way would Levy sanction £25 million for him. The defence needs sorting as a priority.

Firstly....I have never said that so not sure what you are on about.
Secondly...Arsenal title contenders . When did that happen...the season runs past March which is when Arsenal's season ends
Considering we used to be rubbish it's now bad for a club the same size as West Ham
