Lallana is a top 6 player, would be decent at spurs but out of depth at top clubs, he is worth £15m max but being english adds on 5-10m

dumbo,

You are wrong dumbo. Anyway, what is Spurs average position in that 100's period?

don't want lallana and definitely don't want rodriguez.

only Southampton players I would be interested in are shaw (unlikely), lovren, and schneiderlin (less so)

we have far more attacking talent currently at the club than Southampton had - plenty for him to work with.

Let's concentrate on our own improving our players rather than harvesting from a good club like Southampton

And if Arsenal signed him you'd be claiming he's world class

Lallana is only of use if you sell Erikson IMO. You need a centre half, a left back and a quality winger IMO.

------Sandro--Paulinho
Winger----Erikson------Winger
-------------Saldado

Looks decent to me, with Townsend and Lamela taking up one wing spot, maybe not starting Paulinho as he's been poor when I've seen him.

Another dumb comment from Moronic.. Southampton scored 54 goals in the league compared to Spurs' 55....even with all the dodgy penalties..

this guy is more sensible than 75% of spurs fans it seems.

although I would play dembele over paulinho in that particular role.

lamela as one of the wingers.

chadli probably as the other winger as things stand, interchanging with Eriksen

--------------Sandro---------Dembele------------

Lamela------------Eriksen--------------Chadli

-----------------------Soldado/Ade---------------------

has lots of potential, skill, and movement.

Collateral damage Spurtle, although you do have to feel sorry for them

Quite Vert. I know this is how football is but it's sad. You wonder how teams like Southampton can ever expect to challenge.

hardly.

doubt anyone felt sorry for us when man u and real Madrid came and cherry picked our best players when they felt like it.

pecking order

Seems the only way to keep a stable squad in the prem is to finish mid to low end table. Get relegated there's a fire sale, do too well and all your best players get picked off.

I was going to say being wealthy helps but I see PSG are looking to asset strip Chelsea this summer

Chelsea can always attract decent players though with their standing. They shouldn't have to worry.

With a team like Southampton, they pretty much have to hope things come perfectly together in one season and have that good a one season that it makes their players/manager want to continue there.

posted on 28/5/14

Very true, though they won't want to lose Hazard if they can help it...Luiz isn't as difficult to replace.

Sadly I can see Saints struggling this season if they lose the core of their team, they will need to do their business early or they won't get replacements in time.

The idea that Chelsea are going to sell Luiz and Hazard to PSG is more than a bit ridiculous if I'm honest. It's not going to happen with Hazard.

I don't think there's any question that the departures at Saints will have a knock-on effect but I still believe they'll avoid relegation. Unfortunately they needed an even better season last season to hold on to everyone, a Liverpool-like season, and that kind of thing barely ever happens.
