Tours may be resigned to him wanting to play at a higher level, but there are two years left on his contract, so it's not like they have to sell him this window to get a fee for him – they can afford to play hardball to some extent.
They did get him on a free, though, so any fee would be a clear profit. And his Transfermarkt valuation is just over £1.5m, so a no-nonsense £2m+ 'cash on the nail if you make your minds up quickly' offer might be a figure they felt they couldn't afford to turn down.
BTW, he got 8 assists last season as well as the 24 goals.

Just watched a 7 min video on You Tube and he looks good, ideal for what we're looking for in terms of work rate and he can score goals.

Never heard of him. I did think this was more the way we would be going though. Im sure i remember Pearson saying something along the lines of 'we wont of heard of our targets' when asked about potential signings.
