So if nothing is speculated in the media that means United aren't doing much business in the TW.Great logic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only players they've linked us to so far are ex Bayern players under Van Gaal, and Dutch players, so they clearly aren't just stabbing wildly in the dark
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The media are moving onto Spanish players next.
Xavi to finally make his PL move?
Mex- I never said he's doing nothing. He's probably doing what he did last summer.
My worry is we Had targets last summer and had to over pay to secure one at the last minute. Ok mata is a top player but we only got him by paying top top money and because Chelsea didn't want him.
My concern is that we have a repeat of last summer ( drawn out unsuccessful negotiations ) we cannot afford that with 5 weeks of the window taken up with the World Cup, especially as we need 4-5 players in and possibly the same out.
1 player has been signed! Lambert... big deal.... get a grip and stop panicking. Even the Costa deal, while agreed, hasn't been completed
For all you know we may have several deals agreed but are keeping them under wraps... or we could be working on them
Van Gaal has stated repeatedly he wants no questions on United as the focus has to be on the Dutch squad... if we suddenly start signing players left right and centre, every press conf becomes about United.
I can forsee us getting in signing before the WC and then, hopefully,a ripple effect might happen where we'll see a couple of more players coming in pretty sharpish.
"Van Gaal has stated repeatedly he wants no questions on United as the focus has to be on the Dutch squad... if we suddenly start signing players left right and centre, every press conf becomes about United."
This is actually very true.
I hope your right shrugs. Maybe it is a bit early to be getting worried but at the same time I remember everyone saying it was early days last summer. What's different this time ? Same money available, same chief exec doing the negotiating? The confidence some are showing in Woodward, for me is unfounded.
Don't be shocked if 2 or 3 of our future new signings are in the holland squad. He knows them players very well and can trust them.
People are hoping for Cesc, Hummels and Reus but we all know that it's not going to happen.

-------------------------------------------
that could be true but we should atleast try to get them, Cesc for example is one player that is ideal for us. Barca are negotiating deals at the moment. Its utter incompetence if Ed had no interest in it what so ever
Woodward will be going for players LVG wants, not what us fans want
Why can't people understand this?
i didnt think the window opened until July
If LVG doesnt want Cesc, He should be sacked at once
If LVG doesnt want Cesc, He should be sacked at once
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
Barca don't want him. Arsenal don't want him. City don't want him. PSG don't want him.
Granted we've got a poorer midfield than all those clubs, but LVG clearly will have other players in mind for CM.
Strootman and Claise more than likely to be in the running.
I'd love Fabregas at United but it doesn't seem like our new manager does. We have to believe in King Louis. He knows his shiiiit. His record with signing and developing top players is almost second to none.
Barca dont need him because they already got plenty of good midfielders, same goes for Arsenal. City are restricted by ffp rules. We are the ones who are desperate to sign a quality CM and Cesc is top quality, will not get anyone better than him. Its ludicrous to let him go without even an attempt to sign
LVG's record with developing top players is second to none but his signings and transfer activity are not his strong points

wise up... so before a ball is kicked, team assembled... match won or lost... LVG should get sacked for maybe not fancying a midfielder who hasn't actually played in midfield for the best part of 3 years.... assuming that maybe Fabregas has told us he doesn't want to come
Some of you should give 08457 909090 a call if we haven't signed anyone by Sunday.... they can help
I trust Van Gaal to be honest. You don't achieve what he has without knowing your stuff.
The rumor is that Cesc and his family wanted back to London anyway so that rules us out straight away, as well as City.
People sometimes underestimate the draw of London to foreign players. It seems to pull them in with a tractor beam.
We should be moving heaven and earth to get him, wheels are already set in motion. If cesc refused us and if he wants to go to somewhere else then fair enough but Ill be royally pisssed off if we dont even try
shrugs
the point went straight over your head.
Van Gaal won't work under those conditions. He will work with players he wants to work with. He'll sign who he wants and sell the ones in the current squad that he doesn't fancy.
Woodward knows jack shiiiit about football. He will just be doing the manager's bidding as he did last summer.
Stretford
Why would Cesc choose us over Chelsea?
We had trouble competing with Chelsea for signings when we were champions, what makes people think things will change all of a sudden because we finished 7th?
We were wrong about him going back to Arsenal then Darren, thought that was a banker
LVG is awfully stubborn when it comes to spending money on players, bit like wenger. that is his main weaknesses. That was one of the reasons for his downfall at Bayern.
In his last season he refused to sign anyone, insisted his squad, youth team good enough for the season. Bayern board tried multiple times to change his opinion but he didnt budge. When the season started the squad was not good enough and got found out, LVG got sacked at the end.
Yep true, I think most people thought that was a banker.
I was right about him not coming to United, though. This season and last.
Why would Cesc choose us over Chelsea?
-------------------------------
Because chelsea are manged by Jose, because He has to compromise his attacking instinct for team ethics if he went there
But if he's willing to look beyond that Chelsea are a better bet.
he'd be stupid to look beyond that, We all know how great he is when played to his strengths. his natural instincts were shacked at barca, which is one the main reasons he didnt quite cut it there, so why swap that to some thing similar? it doesnt make sense
