even though ronaldo has out performed messi this season,i think messi might have been saving himself for the world cup as he might see this as his best chance of guiding argentina to world cup glory

No player "save themselves" for a World Cup. They could get injured in the 1st minute of the group stages thereby wasting a whole season.

Truth is, as much as people don't seem to like admitting it, is that Ronaldo is simply better than Messi at the moment.

Still, I feel if it isn't Brazil, then Argentina will win it. It would be hilarious if they won Brazils tournament. I hope it happens.

What about Spain ffs ?

I watched their friendly against El Salvador yesterday and they look ready.

Spain have the best players by a country mile still.

Germany are the team I'm most looking forward to watching and after we crash out they'll be the ones I'll probably "support". You can never write them off but I just can't see a European winner in South America.

The only team I don't want to see win it is Spain as they bore the pants off me.

Because of the 255 names on here - and Argentine continued posturing over those islands!

Yes and look at all the horrible things this "great" country has done, we deserve to have 3 quarters of the world bitter against us.

Like Northern Ireland, The falklands are not ours we stole it plain and simple.

Do you actually believe what you're writing?

Yes im not biased in my views please enlighten me tho on why the Falklands are ours....After you've finished reading the Daily Sport of course.

You think the situation in Northern Ireland is "just like" the Falklands?

You, sir, are a buffoon.

comment by Robbing_Hoody - Here, have some goals. You don't have to work for them. They're a gift. That's what we do now. (U6374)

Putting words in my mouth? I didnt say ot was "Just like" at all, totally different situations.
But they are both countries previously owned by others that we invaded.

Like i said check our history instead of having a go at the Argies...And then realise we have all beem bad and move on.

im not british, only lived in london for a while so come on argentina

You said "Like Northern Island" - you drew that parallel, no-one else, and quite frankly it's a stupid assertion and you clearly don't know wtf you're talking about.

The French and British colonised the Falklands, no-one else, and where do you think Argentina came from? You think they're indigenous or something and just happen to speak Spanish?

Jesus wept.

Argentina can feck right off if they think they're getting the Falklands back. There was a referendum there recently and I think only 3 people voted to be part of Argentina. The islanders consider themselves British and that's the main thing.

posted on 8/6/14

Anyway I don't care who wins the World Cup if its not England

The Falklands were originally settled by both French and British in the 1770's so both have a more legitimate claim to them than any other country.

The French left leaving their colonies to Spain. Argentina, who certainly had no colonies there, and did not know of there existence, tried claiming the Spanish colonies when they left.

The population (Made up of a heritage of Britsh, Chilean, St Helenan) who live there now are Falkland Islanders afforded the protection of the British Crown and want nothing to do with Argentina.

In the last vote 98.8% of them voted that they wanted nothing to do with Argentina!
