Stevie G is a poor mans Xabi Alonso, even he knows it thats why he's doing his best to change his appearance to try and look like the great man.

England were better without Rooney and Gerrard. Drop them both.

yeah gerrards not better in a position that xabis been playing his whole career what a surprise

If England do well then it is down to the Pool players but if they do poor it is of course Woy Hodgsons fault

If we do poorly it will be because of Rooney, Welbeck, Smalling and Jones. And, slightly ironically, because Carrick wasn't selected.

itll be to do with thw awful manager, not sure why people expect liverpool players to play the same with a different manager who tells them to do different things

Gerrard has to play. A midfield of Wilshere and Hendo or Wilshere and Barkley or Hendo and Barkley would be ripped to shreds by any half decent side.

Gerrard was a shocking choice for Captain.

I don't care if people claim I'm bitter, but Gerrard is bleeding useless for England,as is Rooney. I still think both should start, but I hope Roy has the spûds to replace them if all is not well.

Probably a similar amount to the ones he played this season when he tore Everton & Utd to pieces.

Like I posted,he's shît for England. His form for Liverpool never follows him when he plays for his country.

He was in the player of the tournament for the Euros, scored the goal that sealed WC qualification, played DM in WC 2006 and managed to score a couple and we barely conceded.

He's obviously been better for club but he's been a lot better for England than gets made out. He's been one of England's better perfomers over the years but you'd think he looks like Cleverley reading people's 'unbiased opinions' on messageboards.

Nice to see Alas back, went missing after Everton let in a few at Anfield, said "I feel sick" and wasn't seen again till now.

I said I feel sick?

No one plays well for England. Stop singling out Liverpool players

This has happened for years. The inability to transfer club form to the national team is nothing new. Doesn't matter who the parent club is, some players just cannot do it for country.
