meant England instead of the second football.
anyway if only I was actually a glory hunter.. I might actually have some cups to celebrate every now and again aye.
I don't think he's a glory hunter when England go out there will be a country some of you may like to do well. It's just a passive interest.
I do not really care who wins just want to see some great football myself.
It was a joke, how can he be a glory hunter with Spurs as his club side

Personally, I just back teams based on current circumstances. This summer, I'd prefer Argentina, Brazil or Germany to win it
--------------------------------
Germany!?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. Germany have been knocking at the door at major championships for a while now & they have some very talented players.
As a child I was a huge England fan but then you grow up & realise that club football is King. How on earth could anyone support an England team that could line-up with 4-5 Liverpool players?
I think most fans would change their opinion if they won the Champions League in the last minute against their biggest rivals.
other downsides about England team are the media. faaacking bunch of tosssers

what a strange way to celebrate!!!
When we were guaranteed to go through I think I jumped up and down a bit with my arms in the air, maybe threw a fist pump in somewhere...

I think the club loyalty thing is much stronger for England fans theny anyone else. But that's just basing that on sites like this.
I find it really strange, I've said this many times on here but even as a Liverpool fan Roy Keane is still one of my favourite players ever. I wasn't a fan of him in red but once he pulled on the green jersey he was our captain, best player and leader and got us to the WC in 2002 even though he did leave the squad befor eit started.
All I can see from most england fans is if the player doesn't play for the club you support then hes a caaant and he's useless and he shouldn't play for England cause a lad from your club should.
The match threads for England games are hilarious people freaking out about this lad being a caant or that lads a caant etc.
I love ROI, I've a season ticket and go to every home game, I'd say I've missed about 3 home games since 2000. Maybe it's because of this that I love ROI, like we're fairly rubbish and were the worst team at the last Euros which sucked but just to get there was great.
Maybe it's the weight of expectation that England often have and fail to deliver on that leads to the animosity towards rival clubs players. But does this not take away from the enjoyment of your country being at the World Cup?
England qualify all the time too so it's not such a great feeling when you do I guess, still you do get the impression that many fans would rather see England fail and then they can criticise a rival teams players then actually see England do well, that's just tragic IMO.
I am a david beckham fan .

Liverpool have won almost every trophy possible by a club team and England won the WC.
For all you young'ns out there the old first division is the same as PL except there were more (24) teams in it so it was harder to win.
European cup is the same as Champions league knockout stages except only LEAGUE CHAMPIONS were eligible to enter so it was harder to win.
UEFA cup is the same as Europa League knockout stages except you had to be 2nd in the league to qualify so it was harder to win.
I was too young to appreciate the WC win so I would have to say it would have be the WC win for me.
Doh where did the start of that comment go? that was supposed to read:

England AFAIK used to get 4 places in the UEFA Cup.
Which table placings they were, depended on which clubs were domestic or UEFA cup winners that season.
RDBD:
The competition was traditionally open to the runners-up of domestic leagues, but the competition was merged with UEFA's previous second-tier European competition, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, in 1999. Since then, the winners of domestic cup competitions have also entered the UEFA Cup.
Spurs won the UEFA Cup in 1984.
They were not 2nd in the league in 1982-83.
RDBD:
Unfortunately I don't have an answer for that. All I know is that the UEFA cup when it started (before they started allowing various cup winners in) was only open to domestic league runners up. Although I don't know how many runners up were allowed but I think there were 64 teams in the first UEFA cup which Spurs won in 1971-72 season.

Exactly, if people can't put aside club rivalries for their national team then that's just petty. Besides, it's not like supporting Gerrard and Sterling in the World Cup helps Liverpool whatsoever. I still despise them but I can somewhat put that aside to support my country for a month
