"you clearly haven't been to many games then if that's your thoughts"

Are you saying the 1882 mob are the main instigators of all Y word songs at Spurs games home and away ??

Like I said, and I've said a thousand times before (which I stopped month ago)

I have my opinion on the matter and I won;t change irrespective of what you say

That maybe true, but effectively calling those that disagree 'clearly uneducated' is unlikely to see the matter put to rest, is it?

Particularly when it's a flawed statement.

I guarantee you that the majority of Spurs fans that use it are uneducated on the matter and are just following in a sheep mentality.

But they can sing what they like, does not bother me. I'm one person who disagrees with it,

RD is clearly confused in his old age in the presumption that I assume all 1882 "mob" to blame when it was adopted by our fan base back when it was used against us

But each to thier own

You can't guarantee me anything, but that's besides the point... you clearly didn't make any distinction, and labelled everyone the same, didn't you?

You are clearly confused (in whatever age you are) by my comment that the Spurs games I have been to in the last 2-3 seasons, have had the 1882 mob present and not one Y word related song was sung.

I will however ask for clarification as to whether for the last 2-3 seasons at senior games at WHL etc, you believe the 1882 mob are the instigators of most of the Y word songs.

I don't know all fans personally so I can't guarantee you that all do or do not know it's origin

But I can guarantee you there's a large number out there who don't know, and are following suit.

Like I said, it's not for me to comment on in detail, if they want to use it so be it, I know a number that have changed thier opinion after it came out, and like me are happy to sing other stuff

I never said that they were , as a fan base we're all responsible

I've seen a fan get arrested last season because he thought it was the right thing to do, well done mate

Such a lad

"I never said that they were"

Hence why I asked for clarification.

"as a fan base we're all responsible"

How so ??
How are you responsible for a "clearly uneducated" group who also perhaps do not know the range of songs that the 1882 crowd do ??

Why are you bringing the 1882 mob up? it's not just them it's everyone

Yiiiid army

Common sense

Y id or Yi ddo is sang at every game at white lane by the way

Yes, but those that were following the crowd were, I believe, doing it for a different reason; that being objecting to being told what they can and can't sing, and being accused of all sorts of arrestable offences.

In that position, I think they were entitled to protest in the manner that they did.

If it pushes them to educate what they're singing and, now that the protest can finish, moves them to make a conscious decision about whether they want to use it, then that's a good thing.

I would agree there in some respect

They're entitled to their opinion, as am I , if they feel they need to defend something they have no attachment to personally then it's their business,

End of the day I'm not Jewish so I feel uncomfortable using the word because of it's history, but that's me

It's over now, which is great, we can go back to how it was,

"Why are you bringing the 1882 mob up?"

Because my personal experience of this large group of Spurs supporters who claim they just want to sing and improve the atmosphere, appear to have little interest in those songs.

So if not them, what other group of "clearly uneducated" supporters who start these songs should we be focusing on ??

Please stop, you're going off course and it bares no relevance to the conversation I'm having with a level headed fan (Winstone)

Completely on topic, if the premise is that :

- you don't like the songs
- you don't want them sung at all by Spurs supporters
- the supporters who sing these songs are "clearly uneducated" (but could be 'educated' to stop)

posted on 18/6/14

What's the big deal? Thudd chooses not to sing it and has his reasons. He's not preaching those reasons so why make him justify it?

I understand the reasons behind it and sing it - not because of those reasons - I'm not a proud defender of Jews or Jewish heritage at all. I sing it cos that's what we sing. I bet most non-Jew spurs fans do the same

- you don't like the songs - True
- you don't want them sung at all by Spurs supporters - No I said fans can sing what they want
- the supporters who sing these songs are "clearly uneducated" (but could be 'educated' to stop) - It's my opinion

RD you're being a stop now, it's boring

Very clear to me now (thank you) .
Nothing more you ever need to say on the debate.
