The Stonecutters episode of the Simpsons was also genius!

took me a little while to adjust to American Dad (alot longeer than it dd with Family Guy anyway), episode that did it for me though was the cattle drive

think you're wrong to say Stan's the only source of humour, Roger is annoying, but that's the whole point of the character! Steve gets funnier as the series progresses, and so does Klaus

and Patrick Stewart's character is absolutely hilarious

In fairness, the episodes I have seen then the Patrick Stewart character has been brilliant.

Might give it another go then. I've seen all the FG episodes anyway.

for me anyway these shows tend to work best when they're directly parodying something else

loved the Family Guy take on Star Wars (although Blue Harvest was easily the best). and one of the best American Dad episodes was Tearjerker, the James Bond spoof

Season 2-10 of The Simpsons was far above everything else. Don't know about now.

'The Stonecutters episode of the Simpsons was also genius!'

It's a secret...

Simpsons reached the highest peak of quality of any animated show, but after around season 10 it's been on a continuous drop.

In terms of continued quality, I'd probably say South Park as it's been going for almost 20 years but is still pretty good.

I love all those others as well, but those two are the ones I'd put on top

South Park, been on forever and just gets better. The Simpson is terrible now.

Wiggum and Lou is the one that makes me laugh the most on Simpsons. Been ages since I watched it so can't recall a particular scene but remember they were always my favourite ones, and they were quite rare too.

The simpsons has gotten pretty poor now, and whilst I still watch it, Family guy is also going that way. Still some qulaity episodes, but theres only a couple per season now.

American Dad has definitely overtaken it, it is truly hilarious now. Stan, Roger, Steve, Patrick Stewarts character, the principal, so many great characters.

But south park takes it for me, the Game Of Thrones trilogy in the latest series are just about there funniest episodes ever!

Honorable mention goes to Metalocalypse though, thats hilarious.

Simpsons family guy is awful

Getting pretty bored of Family Guy now I used to watch it all the time. I usually watch South Park or American Dad and maybe watch a Simpsons episode or two online.

At its best, Family Guy or Simpsons, but whereas said shows have been declining a lot in recent years, South Park has just been so consistently good.

I'd rather watch a new episode of South Park than I would Family Guy or The Simpsons.

I think the World of Warcraft South Park episode is probably the funniest animated sitcom episode I've seen.

I've never really rated Family Guy. Just a dumbed down rip off of The Simpsons with worse animation and annoying voices.
