Sold him a long time ago but finally agreed the fee.
wahooo......we lost Sagna, sold Vela, Lost Fabianski, losing TV, refuse Fabregas, may lose Cazorla and got no one in........Come on Arsenal...................next season is looking good.....
yeah might be relevant if the window was even open.^^^
this is on top of the extra £3.5 mil we sold him, its a good deal
The crux of the matter here being that Arsenal were interested in Vela but the player chose to remain in Spain.
Because Vela stated publically that Arsenal wanted to re-sign him.
He also stated publicly that he was open to returning, whilst Arsenal stated nothing publicly and Sociedad stated both that he was definitely staying and that he was definitely leaving. I guess people just believe what they want to believe - usually whatever is negative about Arsenal. Seems like fantastic business to me.
Good news, not good enough for us. Done very well to get that money for him. Shame we won't spend it though.
'Bats'
Any idea what the club will use the money for?
comment by He did not come from Russia, He is Ozil or is it Ew-zil, maybe its Or-zil…no hang on its Ert-zi, oh whatever he is an Arsenal player....all you need to know (U6483)

You do realise the transfer window is not even open yet? And that it will be open for a couple of months? You moron
The Godfather
Player registrations cannot be completed at the moment, and while clubs can still transact with each other, I understand the international window formally opens on the 01 July 2014.

exactly this
Vela can only speak for what he wants, he came out and said he didn't mind signing for arsenal
".. international window formally opens on the 01 July 2014...."
Yet still the plums, WUMs and tards all whine "Wenger hasn't bought anyone yet..." "Wenger out..." Only another two months of this crap to go
we haven't missed out on the striker we need, most of the storys of "transfers" are just media gossip at this stage and we're not really a club that likes giving the media anything
Won't be any new signings until the new Puma deal kicks in.

You're right Arsenal don't like giving the media anything but we are also known for not being a club to sign players by the 1st of July.
It would be good just once a while if our new signing could take part in our pre-season preparation rather than missing the first two games of the season
Arsene's Optomerist
Club’s can still ‘sign’ players per se just not complete their player registration with FIFA.
Great news. Would of been a disaster if we re-signed him
