Release clause in contracts

Perfectly right DM

The club took a lot of stick the last time we were relegated and we had to wait and encourage highly paid players to leave before we could get cheaper ones in.
So the club had to put a clause in their contracts saying on relegation their salaries go down to league 1 levels. I guess the agents were quick to insist on a clause saying if that is the case then we want a clause saying we are entitled to leave on a free.

I am desperate to see the new players coming in. If the hype is anything to go by then we are in for good news soon.

There is an interesting article about Brownies move to Blackburn. Who do you believe their Chairman or ours.

No doubt Ryan will respond and put the man in his place.

Having just read the comments made by PD on the OS it is very refreshing to see that himself and the new owners are making very positive comments about the ambitions for the coming season.
This will be attractive to potential new players.

By the sign of it Cotterill is on his way to Birmingham. Looks like a completely new team for next season.

Yes I think we are in for a far better pre season then last !! Cotts has gone to birmingham for sure, I think dickov is just clearing out the ones that want gone then he will be in the market ! Loads of people on social media panicking about no one coming in, but there is plenty of time to build a squad together ! I hope good times are ahead with copps (no26) leading the way !!! 🎣

Comment overheard in Lanzarote, "do i not like that"!

There is a rumour circulating that another player is on his bike, Forrester, but I am not convinced of its authenticity. Why don't the new owners/regime put a message out reassuring supporters that come the start of the season we will have a promotion chasing squad and don't worry about the players leaving we are just clearing the deck. Its not that difficult and would raise morale of the supporters.

Alex, i think i am correct when i say that both PD and LT have already said as much in recent interviews.
Forrester has also stated his desire to be part of the team this season to make up for missing most of the last one.

Hound,

I am not convinced about Forrester going as you can tell from my comment.
Yes I am aware that Ryan and Tommo have made those comments but I would like to see an up to date communique explaining that the club are in control and its part of the overall plan.

Communication at this point is just as bad as under the old regime.

A character on the VSC claims to go out running with Forrester and says "he is going no where"
I did make reference to why Forrester is running on the spot.

Just read an article where Cotterill was pleased to be signed by a big club. Doesn't he realise that we are on our way to the prem?

It goes on to say that Ryan tried to get him to stay but he was pleased to sign for a big club, Birmingham? in financial trouble! We may even replace them in the Championship who knows?

Yes Alex, Birmingham are a massive club.
Last season their average gate was 15,457 (impressive?).
I suppose that staying in the Championship is a big thing for Cotts if he still wants to play for Wales and he does say it is closer to his home.
I bet the money they are offering him is quite good as well despite them being in considerable debt.
Good luck to him though, he did well for us.

By the way, i hope Forrester does stay.
In the few games and sub appearances i saw of him last season i was impressed.
He would do very well for us next season.
Nice joke about running on the spot as well.

Yes forrester put on twitter he is looking forward to starting pre-season training very very soon !! Let's hope it's cantley park he will be heading to! I think he can do a job for us if he stays fit ! As for cotts I agree with you hound I think he was great for us especially when I found out why he went off the boil last season ! But hey ho time to look forward and hopefully no more players leaving ! Anyone got any ideas where sharp might end up ?

I don't know if its just me but without more information from the club the lack of the Trust money coming in is worrying. How important is that £2m?
My maths is not up to much but I make it the trust must take in about £60,000 a day to hit the target. Its only taken £59,300 in the first 6 days so far.
I would have thought that the donations would have been higher at the beginning than the end?
I can't see the new regime letting it fail and can only think there will be some very big donations going in in the next 3 weeks.

DFP,
now voicing concern at the trust's poor performance! and they are not noted for their investigative journalism.
In the past they were always leaking for one side but this seems to be a move away from the norm?

In the DFP article it says and I quote:

According to the Trust, the Crowdfunder deadline may yet be extended beyond the July 17 cut-off point.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I would expect some very large donations coming in in the end but its got to rocket to reach the £2m target

The crowdfund org states:
This project will only be funded if at least £2,000,000 is pledged by 2:46PM on Thursday 17th July, 2014.

Can the trust extend the date without losing the donations? No, not the way I see it.

Maybe it won't reach it's goal Alex, but it's still not going to affect the takeover bit as they stated. Was it newyankee on about some other celebs being involved in the background? Maybe they might top it up to 2 mil at the end. I don't know, not sure how all this stuff works, but looking on Facebook we have masses of fans all around the world now !

posted on 29/6/14

Me and my mate are average punters. We buy season tickets every year and go to away games that are not too far. We have both pledged £35 to the fund. If this is the average pledge there need to be another 43-44 thousand like us. Who are these people?

posted on 29/6/14

As Mav said, we have new fans all over the place now.
I read somewhere that the crowdfunder site had had over 33 million hits since it began.
That indicates a strong interest in the club and the scheme.
Obviously not everyone who has a look has contributed but as we all know, it takes time to build a fanbase.
This is just the beginning and we have to wait to see things develop and not be too impatient.
It is far to easy to criticise and look for reasons why things can fail.
Why not go with the flow and see how far LT and JR can take the club.

posted on 29/6/14

32 million hits were from me!

I will be a lot happier once that total has been reached.
As everyone knows I am not exactly a fan of Ryan but I have no intention of walking away from my club after nearly 60 years of support.
I did get some feed back on how Ryan is financing the club but I can't confirm the authenticity so its only a rumour.
The great danger for Ryan is that he over extends himself but if we get away on a flyer and promoted this season that obviously diminishes.

I have spent 5 hrs on the road today to go and watch the Belles play at Bechenham, South London, against Millwall.

I have to admit I really enjoyed the game. Its silly to compare it to mens football its different. We have a very good team well organised and a pleasure to watch playing good football.

we drew 0-0 but we dominated most of the game. Millwall's keeper made some superb saves.

The last time I took my wife to a game was the game against Brentford when the ball went through the hole in the net. We had a fantastic day out and enjoyed the game tremendously but not the journey.

I aim to be at that Yeovil game if at all possible.

Get behind the Belles.
