He cant train with the club
Banned from all football activity
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can he have a kick about with his kids as long as he has a fifa approved muzzle on or is that also out of the question?
From the BBC... "He is banned ... from entering any stadium during this period."
Guess he'll just have to kick back and drink snakebite for a few months.
If a member of the public bit somebody, on three separate occasions they would be looking at 6 months inside.
A professional footballer however gets full pay to sit on a beach, with full luxuries and relax, away from even the rigours of physical training.
I hope he has really learn't his lesson

You only have to look at Suarez's post match "stuff happens" comments after biting Chiellini that this is a man who clearly feels no remorse and hasn't learned anything from his previous ban after biting Ivanovic.
Being a one of a kind talent has a lot of perks.

Shouldn't make you above the law though Gazza.

Yup, at least.

Bridge-Banter not just any professional footballer. Probably the 3rd best footballer in the world.
It would be the same for the 3rd best surgeon, doctor, banker, lawyer, accountant, software engineer, engineer, architect, musician, actor, artist and basically any other profession where they are probably the 3rd best in the world and they would get off lightly for biting.

Not sure about that, particularly the professions with less public visibility.
I mean how many people know the best Doctor in the world let alone the 3rd? Also would likely be sacked after the first biting incident.

Its not bad.. its better then no ban from the league and only missing friendlys.
I believe he also misses three Champions league games which could put pool in a bad position.
Ronaldo at Maracana.. "Why do you want my opinion on Suarez. I never bit anyone. I know bites hurt. My kids used to bite me"

They would definitely be sacked, particularly if it happened in the workplace as with Suarez. Otherwise they'd probably find themselves on the end of a law suit.
I also doubt they'd get a job elsewhere as the risk of liability would scare off potential employers.
I agree that boundaries will be stretched for extremely talented individuals but a bite goes beyond the lines.

That is exactly my point. Leaving the punishments up to the footballing governing bodies in reality is no punishment at all.
A continued £100,000 a week or whatever rat boy is on and time off from work. Any fines are totally disproportionate to their earnings.
The only thing I can see hurting Suarez post bite is the fact that the has cost his Country any chance of progression. Missing the training and International matches on a personal level.........I doubt that would bother him, just ask the England players
What would have been the outcome if Bakkal, Ivanovich and Chiellini had all pressed assault charges from the start I wonder.
If he isn't available for Liverpool in any form over the next 4 months surely they won't continue to pay him?

Very lucky they haven't. I would have done.
The saddest thing is that I was genuinely looking forward to Suarez play this tournament. I had a cheeky little bet on Uruguay to win the WC but no chance of that now.
He's facked it for himself and his country. Well done pratt

The ban works out as a ban for 22 matches at club and international level. Plus if it is a training and transfer ban as well then it is a pretty tough and relatively fair punishment in my opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree Gazza, i think the punishment is about right. There should be also a really severe suspended punishment too though, have they done that?
