Was really not happy when wenger didnt take Fabregas then, But like u said, who would go back to a player who disrespected our club.

I know we haven’t kicked a ball yet but it looks like Liverpool could be the team that struggles next season. The champions City have made a couple of signings but let’s be honest, their squad is pretty strong already. Chelsea have added quality in Fabregas and Costa. United will be a different animal under Van Gaal and Arsenal have brought in Sanchez, a quality player IMO. The only team who has weakened their team is Liverpool. Add CL football into a tough league campaign for them and it could be 7th or 8th for them next season

There is no depature that hurt Wenger more than Fabregas. He was in tears and begged to leave and things didnt go the way he planned. No hard feelings coz boy did this boy play. We might regret it but another 2 signings of quality will avert this. Will give him a standing ovation but there's only one king. King Va va voooom

I'd still love us to sign Fabregas. Apart from Ramsey we haven't really got a top quality "orthodox" central midfielder, and if you look at the top clubs round Europe, they tend to have 2 or 3.

I understand why Wenger didn't re-sign him, I just don't agree.

I would have Fabregas over Sanchez every day of the week and there is absolutely no reason why we couldn't have signed both, but of course AKBs will use this signing as a vindication of letting our ex captain go to our rivals for a relatively low price.

Is this clown for real?

I don't even think that fickle fan AL would agree with that nonsense. Honestly that one of the most embarrassing things you have written.. Actually maybe not going on your history

Honestly do you want me to delete that for you and pretend you never wrote it? So embarrassing.

Fabregas did not disrespect our club. He left after an extended period of time to go back to his childhood club Barcelona - where he was bought up and raised. When he left Barcelona, we had first option to buy him back. He would have come back to Arsenal if Wenger had wanted him. Fabregas did not disrespect Arsenal. I for one respect his decisions and wish him well in his future (albeit except when it becomes detrimental to Arsenal!)

It's ironic that you are calling me fickle for saying that, if you and every other Arsenal fan were given the choice a month ago, I know who the vast majority would pick. That's not to say Alexis is a bad player, he is a world class signing who I am very happy with. Fabregas is just better and just because he is Chelsea now doesn't change that.

It must be a joke! Why would somebody want another cm when we are loaded with them and not the pacey attacker we have been crying out for? Signing fabregas would have made no sense so well done Arsenal, big respect.

When I see our possession stats against the likes of Palace, Stoke, etc and see us to create clear cut chances in nearly every big game we've played since Cesc left, I think it is fair to say he would have been a much needed addition to our squad.

No
Batmanu you are a clown

Do you still have the same view now you have seen Alexis in an arsenal shirt?
_____

Yes I have. We missed out on a world class midfielder. That would have been a statement to bring him back to Arsenal and a sign that the period of penny pinching at Arsenal is real over.

Buzzing over the Sanchez deal though

Agree 100%.

I deleted my previous comment because it was rude and I'm trying to be calmer this season

Honestly tthough I can't understand why you would think Cesc is a better signing than alexis. I see what you're saying about creating chances but I think that was more about lack of for runners. Cesc would have struggled Last season

Yep, I am truly sad that we did not sign Fabregas as well, even if it meant one of our current midfield would move on. My sadness will turn to deepest misery when Fabregas cleans up at Chelsea.
Why, why, why not have cake and eat it?
Fabregas AND Sanchez would have been sublime.

If not signing fabregas meant that we could get Sanchez then I'm not fussed. Fab is the better player but our team needed a Sanchez type player more.

However, it would've been great to sign both

My initial response to the whole Fabregas affair was that it was only acceptable for us not to go after him if we were going to use the money saved to strengthen heavily in other areas, since while a world-class centre midfielder is not to be sniffed at, it's the area of the team where we have the most talent/players already. Signing Sanchez is certainly a huge step in the right direction, and if we could get a top-quality DM as well I'd stop caring about Fabregas, to be honest.

Yes Ocelots that's my thoughts too

Sanchez is not a better player than Cesc, but he's surely a better signing for us.

The thing is. It ONLY makes sense not to sign Fabregas if we couldn't afford to sign a ST, WF and a DM because of it (which is doubtful as we have the largest legit cash.reserve in World football).

Rosicky isn't getting any younger (utilized a lot last season)
Arteta and Flamini are bang average
Ozil is great but offers nothing defensively
Wilshere potential
Ramsay
Cazorla - see Ozil
Diaby

Basically Fabregas will likely offer Chelsea a good 6 years of World Class service for a relatively small transfer fee and competitive wages, we've missed out big time.

That said. ST and DM are currently still far more pressing areas, FAR MORE. If we sign 2 great players in those positions then I'll be more than happy.

Umbrella, I hate you.
Especially as I believe Fabregas could have brought in some of the qualities of a striker (goals) and a dm.
