So bitter and bitey

I think you'll relinquish a Top 4 place but win the Champions League.

"Their logic comes from the fact that we have between 6-10 more games to play this season."

So you dont think you will get to the semis?

Do I expect with all the new players, the Champs League, the loss of Suarez, and the strenghtening of our rivals (either by players or managers), that we will have as good a season as last year, then it's a no. However, I am looking for us to consolidate and to do well in the Champs League. If our rivals consider this a backward step then so be it.

Some of your supporters like yourself seem to think playing the CL will not affect your chances and others are saying top 4 is the best you can expect because of these extra games.

Top 4 looks the most competitive ever at this stage, it should be fun, but what do you care if everyone else is writing off your chances?

This time last year no one even bothered writing off your chances because they didn't think you had one, take it as a compliment.

nibble nibble nibble.

do you really care what they say?

and to be fair, we still need strengthening cause we have just matched player roster size as we had last year.

We're by far the most talked about team on Ja, it's nice we make so many waves, but of course a comment like this is the reason we are apparantly

The only fanbase that talks about another club more then Rivals talk about us on here is West Ham and Spurs and they are all Maf articles so realistically they don't count.

Said this on an article further down.

I'd be happy this season to consolidate a top 4 place and go as far in the CL as possible. Play squad players and young lads in the fa and league cup!

That would represent a good season for us, keeping us in the champions league and getting our UEFA ranking up!

If anyone can find me a season where oppo fans have not written us off I'll give them a .

Personally I quite like it and as long as we continue to play good football then I don't really care if we finish top four or not. It's not the be all and end all.

Maf is the only hammers fan on here isnt he???

Disagree!

There is nothing better than champions league games, nothing!

this is my personal opinion, taking all unbiased rivalry out of it.

For me it all depends who BR brings in.
what he has done so far is improve the squad, but not your main starting 11.
With LS going, you do need a top marque signing to come in and replace him.

as much as the likes as Can & Lambert will improve the depth of the squad I cant see them pushing you into 4th.

Utd will be back pushing for top 4 this season.

Shaw and Herrera are both very good players who will improve us massively compared to last season, and i expect another 3 top players to come in before the end of the window.

You can't agree or disagree with that. It's about what I feel.

I find this fawning over CL a bit grotesque really.

Dunc - I had a better World Cup than messi (U11713)

Thought you were going to take the bias out? To suggest that, on the back of two signings with a couple of caps between them, that you're going to make up 7 wins on us seems a little biased tbh.

Luis Suarez was outstanding last season....

However... Liverpool still have their primary weapon in Brendan Rodgers.

It is Brendan that turned this club around. He got 110% out of the players and had us playing some fantastic football - even without Suarez

I think the op is mainly having a go at some of our own fans, if I've read it correctly????

We do have plenty who err on the 'glass half empty' side. There are also those that are not happy if our signings don't end in 'inhio' or suchlike. They're completely ignorant of the fact that players are being brought in to suit how we want to play and to give is more options.

People are too hung up on a direct replacement for Suarez. Guess what guys, there isn't one. United didn't directly replace Ronaldo, but still had success. Spurs didn't directly replace Bale, but still.... Oh wait a minute

I can't see what everyones problem is I am only relaying what we have been told on here

not at all.

Moyes was a massive reason for our slump last season.
You dont drop from champions to 7th ( with basically the same squad) - had fergie been in charge or even LVG, im pretty confident we would have had at least made top 4.

In regards to what weve signed, international caps shouldnt even come into the equation.

weve signed the leagues best LB last season in shaw, and midfielder in Herrera who is head and shoulders above what we already have ( who has the likes of Xavi, iniesta, tiago, fabregas competing with him for a spanish cap).

Both these players will come in and improve our 2 weakest areas.

Like i say, its not biased, but weve improved our 2 weakest areas and we are still being linked heavily with Vidal, Hummels and Di Maria amongst others.

I like it when they all write us off before a ball is kicked for three reasons

1) it takes all the pressure off our young squad
2) it makes it much more enjoyable when we do well
3) I enjoy laughing at them all back tracking.

well that's what happened this season after a similar bout of the mystic megs last summer anyway...

I say crack on lads...crack on...

posted on 15/7/14

I think your weakest area is CB myself dunc. How will Herrera fair when he is moved to the North West of England with none of his mates and family around him playing under massive scrutiny and pressure? How does he handle pressure? Do we know?

Shaw is a good player, possibly great, but the reality is you're buying players from mid table clubs to come and play for arguably the biggest in the world under a manager known for getting sacked.

I think it could go either way and the sooner people realise that the only reason that squad was a title winning one was because of MrAF the better. All the blame on Moyes is ludicrous and it's left Utd with a squad containing only a few players who have actually achieved anything.

It's great to talk of Vidal and Hummels. The reality is that your signing from mid table clubs for huges amounts of money on arguably unproven players.

Just saying.

Tbh I'm sick of some of our fans going on about the players we've signed or are going after or being linked with as not being of the required quality or not good enough.

Probably the same people deriding the signing of Sturridge when we were after him!

Even as a rival fan, the fact of the matter is i don´t know how the top four will pan out next season!
