Chambers is excellent.

Very quick and good in the air - the latter attribute is something we're very much in need of right now.

Whilst he's been playing RB, he's said previously that midfield is his favoured position, so perhaps Wenger sees him as cover for RB and DM.

Anyway, a great player and great value if it goes through.

Agreed. But we also need someone aerially strong to cover, because if Debuchy gets injured and we don't, we're essentially only left with the two CBs and Giroud to provide any real aerial presence at set-pieces.

If Chambers plays in midfield with Debuchy at RB, we have 5 players who are strong in this respect, which should help prevent similar situations to the matches against Hull and Liverpool last season!
