I was just confirming stuff to someone and was told I was 'intense' (in a bad way) for saying, 'Woah! Cool!' in response to him saying he was the eldest of six.

Two first teamers and two back ups. As incredibly good as those back ups are, lets not get ahead of ourselves. Until we get that deep midfielder I'm not entirely confident.

what was Southampton thinking?
they could have got at least £25M

Guys its a good signing IMO. Just a little over priced like all other Soto sales. Just pulling your legs and it was really easy.

Is it funny because they got him on the cheap compared to what Liverpool would've spent?

Just a question for Arsenal fans. No wumming and in peace.

Is the signing of a 19 year old fullback for £16m an admittance of failure from Arsene on his youth policy given that in the past he has made such a big deal of creating and developing his own. Chambers is a decent player from what I've seen, but is there no one coming through the Arsenal ranks who is as good or could become as good. Presumably with the signing of Debuchy Chambers isn't for the first team, he's more for the future.

We bought more young players with potential when we didn't have as much transfers funds, we will still bring through young players but now we can add to it with more quality players.

Despite our active window so far we are still 2 players off a good title challenge

No. The "Youth Policy" has always included bringing I the best youngsters from around the world to supplement our own youngsters.
During the seasons after the stadium move the "youth policy" became more to the forefront, but it was there since 98 (when Mr Wenger joined he brought to the club a lot of young foreign players as he saw a great deficiency in our academy).
In those years between 06 and 13 the importance of developing young players became greater, as not only did we find ourselves in a situation where competing with United and Chelsea for top players was out of the question, but also we had to produce to sell. Buying a youngster for a couple of million and selling him for ten times that much was a part of the short term plan.

The objective over the last 8 or so years has primarily been to stay in the CL. We did that, thus the youth policy succeeded for that time.

There is less pressure on the youth policy now, but Wenger still wants home grown players coming through along with young imports like Serge Gnabry, Gedion Zelalem and the Spanish right back Hector Bellerin.

Shearer was originally from the Newcastle youth team. They foolishly got rid of him so don't know if.that counts.

To be honest not a lot of or youngsters from our academy actually make it. Even now there are names I doubt will ever be good enough for the first team.

I'm sure young Chambers will learn a lot playing at the Emirates.

Like how to deal with his team getting booed of the pitch
