Ditch Flamini, Keep Coquelin

Sell both and get in someone better than Arteta?

Sell an experienced member of the squad and keep an unproven youngster, if you can even still call Coquelin that

I think people are forgetting that while we were top for so long, Flamini was touted as the signing of the PL season

Coq is garbage with a garbage attitude.

Selling both would leave us with just the new DM and Arteta though. Coquelin can definitely be useful and is a good footballer.

I'd almost rather play Coquelin as back-up DM than Arteta tbh for his athleticism

Plus Diaby, Wilshere, Ramsey, Chambers, Hayden.
Would be unlucky to lose both for any period of time.

Arsenal Wenger

Flamini's experience is overrated like I said he only looked good because we had someone who liked to foul people for the first time in God knows how long.

Bang average player and we gave him a career lifeline after he backstabbed us. Coquelin isn't really unproven either can certainly do a job as shown in 11-12

Dot
I think after an unsuccessful loan where he was thrown out of position he'd have learnt a lot and calmed down, in our recent friendlies he seems to be working hard in trying to prove his worth.

They were minor games of course but I think he might have matured and would be more willing to play a reserved role this season. Few years back we were all raving about his potential don't think he's exactly lost that.

I'm talking actual DM's though, we all know about Diaby. Coquelin is better than Hayden in MF definitely and Chambers should be utilised more in the back-line for now.

Coq is poor and Flamini is quality but doesn't get rated because he a was a free transfer

But you cannot just stockpile players. We would have 2 players for that role, plus a lot of alternatives if there is an injury.
Squad rules dictate that it makes no sense to have two back ups primarily for one position.

If Coquelin was still an under 21 you would have a case, but he is now of an age where he takes a squad place up and there is little justification for this if we buy another "DM"

Get rid of Coq, useless player. Flamini has that Grit and determination that you need.

coq is not very good so he's going to be sold.

OP, no idea what you see in him.

What did Coquelin do to tick Wenger off again? He came out with a statement.

posted on 29/7/14

Coquelin's last two seasons have been very poor. He was even picked for a "Worst Signings XI" in the Bundesliga.

posted on 29/7/14

Coquelin is 23 and is no longer a ‘prospect.’ He has made next to no impact wherever he has played.

It is also inconceivable that AFC will retain his services.

While Flamini is no Makelelé he is on another level when compared to Coquelin, and to even compare the two is ludicrous.

While we're at it let's get Denilson back

Get rid of the Coq - We're never going to score anyway.

Andre Santos has been released by Flamengo and is available on a free…

Hmmmm I don't know about another level don't see why people don't realise Flamini is an awful football player.

People only like him because he does what nobody else does in our squad which is kick people.

DJ I don't think it would be 2 back-up DM's because Arteta has truly never been one no matter how much he tried to be.

Coquelin is at least the same level of ability as Flamini (better imo) and his age, athleticism and versatility makes him more useful.

Would only get rid if he feels he deserves to play and hasn't matured but I think he has and he's a good player. Even Roy Keane questioned Flamini's worth labelling someone who shouts at people and arm points whilst forgetting his own job.

Headless chicken that should've never been brought back should let him rot, he betray us just as much as Cesc who some question.

WWSPD
Ramsey's also 23 going on 24 he's pure proof that improvements to initial potential can still be made at that age.

That's gold from Keane! "What he should be doing is kicking in there, shouting is for wimps"

Coq is awful

Franny C, along with Ignasi Miquel and Carl Jenkinson, have allegedly been left out of the first team trip to Austria for pre-season training.
Pretty clear indication that all 3 are off, be it on loan or permanent.

(Nothing official)

Oxlade-Chambers

Ramsey is different to most as his progression was debilitated by a career threatening injury. Impossible to compare.

I can’t agree that Coquelin is anywhere near the same level as Flamini.

Furthermore there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that Coquelin is a more proficient footballer. If this were the case Coquelin would have played more games for us, and not on loan at a lower level French/German clubs where he was average at best.

Trust me by the close of this window Coquelin will be not playing in N5.

I agree I reckon Coq will be let go off but for me it would be a mistake if we're to keep the useless Flamini around.

Coq is a much more talented football player. If he's sold good luck to him and bookmark this as I'm sure he'll be very useful elsewhere and we'll be saying how he could have 'done a job' for us

Why didn't he show this at Freiburg last season?
