Selling Podolski makes sense imo

Sanogo coming on in the final and changing the game for us nearly sums it up.

people believe that?

You are a wise man, Sir Digby. Whenever I read that I ask myself what have people watched?

As laughable as it does sound Sanogo was clearly far more effective than Podolski when he came on, we looked far more threatening when Sanogo came on due to his off the ball runs and whatnot, without him necessarily being the threat himself.

Podolski in the whole is a seriously ineffective player and would not be a big loss at all. If we manage to sell him for £10m my betting is that we could easily find a better replacement with that same money.

so basicly dog you are saying he ran around a lot and did nothing with the ball, what a game changer!!!!

"Even Wenger commended his ability to do 'something out of nothing'... "

I'm sure Arsene probably said something similar about Gervinho.

Why want people to sell one of our players? Financialwise we are in a good position for the first time. We don't need to sell ffs. Keep the team together and add instead of sell someone.
-----------------
If not for financial reasons, squad space think we only have 1 or 2 left and hopefully it 1 is used on a DM not to mention a couple of players will be over 21 come january registration time

We played better when Sanogo was on, he made a clear difference to our playing style which helped us win the game. It's not hard to understand.

This.

Whether or not you believe he changed the game or not, he did more for our cause than Poldi which says a lot!

it is when you watch that game, he did nothing, people just dont wanna say giroud was our best playing after the 1st half in the cup final

Basically Podolski is in the same boat as Jenkinson. People don't want them to be sold for sentimental reasons, even though neither player is good enough for us.

they are homegrown though aren't they so it wont matter

Im surprised people are down playing Sanogo's influence in the final.

He contributed more than Poldi and was a nuisance if nothing else. Poldi on the other hand was AWOL

However I wouldn't sell Poldi cos imo if given a prolonged spell as CF, he'll be more deadly than Giroud

A lot of work in football is done off the ball to help the football team, if you don't realise that you're watching the wrong sport.

Sanogo's off the ball runs, created far more space for our other players making us more threatening. Podolski was too static and slowed us down, Sanogo made a difference. I'm not even a Sanogo fan per se, these are just pretty much the facts

I'd say it was far more down the the rest of the team picking up thier game up

So? It still occupies a squad space which they currently don't due to age.

Sanogo falls into that boat and he isn't HG, yes I'd give him away (loan) before Poldi but AW is unlikely to and as it stands he's still our 2nd out and out striker anyway.

I'm open to Poldi being tried as a forward because he's pretty hopeless on the flanks in important games but he's disappointed a lot there and if Wenger doesn't trust him there then I'm sure it's justified.

This makes him pretty invaluable considering he's one of our highest earners.

Picking it up as soon as Poldi went off?

posted on 30/7/14

Podolski stays. We need all the warm bodies we can get. From past seasons, we can officially classify both Theo and Ox as crocks. I expect both of them to have clocked out by December, depending on when they join the first team. Yes I said it.

No reason whatsoever to get rid of anyone for financial reasons.

Whatever fee we acquired for Podolski it is not going to assist with the purchase of another - unless it's a £50m+ signing which is very very unlikely.

Yeah just that, wengers half time team talk was "I'm taking off poldi for sanogo" then they sat in silence for 14 and a half minutes

Jheeze give the guy some credit, no one is saying he was the sole reason we won, but denying that he contributed more than Poldi is just bizarre.

He got the corner that we scored the equalizer
Passed the ball to Giroud who flicked it to Ramsey for the winner

Its there for all to see

no he didn't he lost control and got dispossessed, the hull defender miss kicks it and giroud takes it

he didn't do this either, giroud crossed it and the hull defender cleared it, sanogo didn't really make a difference

Lies

Remember Steve Bruce getting angry cos it wasnt actually a corner?!?!

Sanogo flicked it and ref thought it hit the defender and gave a corner and we equalised.

Even if he lost control for the winning goal as you claim, he was involved, and thats more than Podi did when he was on the pitch.
