The media`s allegiance and the way they fawn over United and Liverpool is sickening to say the least, and fuelled even further by the predominantly ex United and Pool players now masquerading as pundits.
Sky in particular need a successful United and Liverpool, they have a lot of (glory) supporters and so a failing Pool and United out of the spotlight means significantly less subscribers.
You'd make a good Everton fan Billy.

I feel that paragraph works a lot better without United in it...
Its been Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool for years, you get the odd United in there as time as gone on. In terms of media attention then yes the ones winning the premier league generally get more attention (that is to be expected to a certain degree)
You only have to listen to Tony Evans and his bosom buddy Mick Quinn on his regular weekend feature on TalkSport.
NEUTRAL! they both dont know the meaning of the word. Evans has had it in for Roberto and Everton from day one. Pratt.
A good example of media bias is the 352 formation
When Martinez used it at Wigan nobody batted an eye
Now that Van Gaal is using it for united it's suddenly a "genius" tactic which everyone's raving about
Yeah we used 352 aswell get over it

Good point....
Except United don't play in orange... also last I checked we don't generally play at the world cup... outside of that though great post...
That knôbhead from the Times has been on talksport today claiming we'll struggle because of the Europa.

I thought van gaal invented it?
You don't remember them swooning over it last year?
We aren't talking about Netherlands in the WC qualifiers as well (not that they played it much or at all then either)

Who really cares what is printed in the media. It is just a jurno's opinion. This time he has been proven wrong in the way Martinez and the club are building the squad and with a little luck we will improve on last seasons results. Getting much sought after players signed to long term deals shows the faith the club, but most importantly the players have in Martinez.
Don't like what they print, then but another paper.
If anyone is silly enough to think talk sport is neutral, well call them up on the "premium" rate number, get put on hold and complain
Always the same, you try and start a decent football discussion but there's always some kn0b head trying to spoil it
try and start a "decent" football discussion with talk of a "sky sports magic circle". and link it to a whiny little article full of "everyone against us" rubbish...great way to start a decent conversation
You're missing the point! It's the lazy, poorly researched journalism and media bias to the so called 'Sky 4' the Times and other media keep churning out towards Everton that pees me off.
Constantly linking our best players (Barkley, Coleman, Stones, McCarthy to name a few) to their favoured, more fashionable clubs (as they see it!) in poorly written articles, usually with very little research, almost certainly without any foundation and more then likely including the words 'our source says' followed by 'cash strapped' and 'move to a big club'. It's just all so cliched, predictable and so very boring.
This is why I appreciated the article in my original post, it struck a chord. It's a break from the normal drivel.

a break from the normal drivel...its all you lot ever say!
sky 4 is the most cliched, predictable and boring phrase in football.
when your club bends over backwards to sell players to the top english clubs in order to receive favorable loans, you resign yourself to the smaller category and your players will always be linked with moves away.
You sold yourselves out the moment you became a feeder club to the manchester rabble
How many players in the last 10 years have we sold to that four/Manchester rabble.
And how did that work out for them? Can only think of the one that did well
Lucas. So quick to comment, yet now you have gone all mute

Owen, macmanan mascharno, suarez. Did these players use you as a stepping stone to bigger and better things? Every club sells players so you can get off your plastic high horse
