Oh for sure, I've always maintained, as long as Wenger is there, Arsenal will always be a threat.
Ok, they have got into some sort of weird pattern of playing up to February, and then switching off.
But I can't rely on this event always happening. I would like it to continue, but hey, the trophy drought ended. So, correct, In the League, for sure Arsenal are a threat.
City are clear favourites for me.
Strong squad full of title winners, all at good ages and have strengthened without changing too much, also a squad seemingly settled behind a manager they trust and like.
Others have a chance but City are definitely the team to beat. They hardly ever drop points at home and have so much fire power to win away games regularly too.
Last season they only took 7 points out 18 against the other top 4 sides too, not bad but easily something they could improve on.
Chelsea could improve against the weaker sides but their dominance in the big games won't last forever. You can't take for granted how hard those games are to win, and they won nearly all of them last season (16/18 against the other top 4 sides) but could still only finish 3rd.
Arsenal for me are still too weak at the back/mentally to win a title. As a Liverpool fan we have too many squad changes in all likelihood to make as strong a challenge this season.
Its fantasy stuff really to expect anyone else to challenge for the title. Man Utd might have a slim chance if they sign a few more players purely because they have a good manager and no Europe, but its a massive improvement for them to challenge and unlikely.
Why a massive improvement man utd usually finish in top 2 except under moyes who broke our transfer record and finished in our worst position in over 2 decades. Man utd averaged around 84 points in the premierleague era under SAF the same Liverpool got last season. One bad season under a manager who gets players like RVP to come out and say players are getting into his zones after Olympiakos game, funnily enough moyes listened or players ignored moyes tactics for return game and RVP scored a hat-trick.
3 teams for the title, just as it was last season. City, LFC and CFC.
Just look what CFC and LFC have done, CFC bought a striker because thats where they were weak, Liverpool bought quality for the squad, because thats where they were weak. City, well their squad doesnt need strengthening, just adjusting what they have.
No other team has so kany quality options than tjose three, maybe arsenal....maybe, but defensively I still doubt them.
Liverpool conceded more goals then man utd last season and the bail out jail card suarez has left meaning basically liverpool are screwed.
Add champions league for the first time for a lot of these liverpool players in a long time and they will struggle to manage going to europe then coming back to play big games.
I honestly would be shocked if Liverpool finish in the top 4 next season and Brendan Rodgers would deserve to get manager of the year to get that poor squad Liverpool have to top 4 again without Suarez.
R u stupid hafijur? I said LFC strengthened their defence, we bought lovren and can plus looks like 2 quality fullbacks coming in as well; you can add lucas and enrique back fit as well.
Utds defence? Yep, lost 3 of their senior back 3..
Rio Ferdinand was getting on, remember bale being 4-5 yards behild Ferdinand but Bale swept past him in a couple of strides. Vidic while good at defending crosses was vunerable even more so to fast players and made rash challenges. Evra awful defensively good going forward. If anything we have strengthened massively in defence as they were easy to get at last season and made errors.
Ferdinand nearly 36 years old, evra 33 years old, vidic nearly 33 years old. Vidic was the only player I wanted to stay due to his leadership qualities and magnet to clearing crosses.
Ha..ha, well we will see tomorrow and after 38 league games how much stronger tjis utd defence is. I will be shocked if utd beat lfc tomorrow, even though lfc wont be at their best due to some injuries.
Coutinho, gerrard and sterling with Hendo supporting will be too much mfor utd, imo of course.

Yikes Evra as captain.
Got_Better Real Madrid with Bale and Ronaldo in the team were penned back in last 18 minutes, Hernandez having quite a few near misses before scoring. Alonso modric pepe ramos casillas etc all played and we had 15 shots to Real Madrid 7. I think watching how easy Man city ripped your defence up you could be on the end of a thrashing as some of the football man utd have played is the best I have seen since 2008.

Herrera is like a superstar.
BTW Man utd only goals conceded under Van Gaal is two penalties and an 80yd shot.
I think its Chelseas because i think we will concentrate on the CL more than ever this year...I reckon we will finish runners up but with a domestic cup and hopefully semi finals of the CL. 3rd and 4th i cannot call tho...Its going to be a very tight and exciting league this year.
Haf...I watched the utd game, best ive seen utd play for a year, that first goal was fantastic play and movement...reminded me of liverpool.
Madrid were a week behind in their preparation though, and that makes a big difference, still a good performance by utd though. Tomorrow is a true test for both sides. Both should be similar levels of fitness.
If you think you will rip us to shreds, then fair enough...
Hafi, as much as I like your defence of UTD, it is Pre Season after all. These Games don't mean anything, and you shouldn't be taking these results as some sort of indicator.
Van Gaal isn't stupid, and knows its a big task.
We UTD fans expect, but we have to be rational about things.
Same way, LFC fans deep down know, Suarez is a massive loss to them. But it's pre season, and that's where optimism is rife... Monday/Tuesdays game will be no indicator either.
The fact is I was worried last season that we looked so disorganised in preseason, playing woeful combination football, woeful passing and shooting. Now its like we can switch wings, interchange in play, defend well and attack well, shoot well and change systems when defending and attacking.
Hafi vs Got Better should be in the Paralympics.
preseason is shop window and fitness work
nothing more
Man utd won like 2 out of 7 preseason games to pub standard team players and what was worse was our players were trying but the tactics made us look clueless and training was off.
Hafi and got better combined IQ is lower than Wayne Winston Rooneys
Thanks for that Phil, as a guy who earns in access of £50K and has a BEng and well as a CEng and works for the government and is also a member of mensa, I think u talk sht!!
I have a highish IQ but IQ doesn't really mean much. At school I could do a 10x10 grid of multiplication scattered in different areas order every time so 100 multiplications in 1 minute 51 seconds in primary school , no one used to beat me lol. One time I reckon I would have beaten that time the teacher went out the class lol, came back and he said I wouldn't have beaten it but I reckon I definately beat my best time on it as it went like clockwork, reckon it would have been a 1 minute 45 second time as it felt the best I did it.
