I saw enough yesterday,Salgado is too slow, the boy hanley is one for the future but hes been thrown in at the deep end.I really believe we are in big trouble now and when people start moving we will be playing catch-up.Kean is not all to blame the owners and advisors are on a different planet when it comes to footie.Like you ive folloewed rovers for more than 45 years and I honestly think that some-one must start getting things organized or we will doing panic buying in the last couple of days.

Don't agree with you about Hanley,Samba could of been back and we would of still lost Salgado is too slow, olsson
is to attacking for fullback and the midfield is a joke no help or protection for the centrebacks .but i do agree with you about hughes coming back not going to happen though.

I think Ribeiro needs to start ahead of Salgado against Everton otherwise we'll be ripped to shreds. So far he has been the weakest point of our very weak defence and this issue needs to be sorted quickly.

agreed ribeiro should start we also need givet fit so he
can start if he's still here

"There are plenty of Steve Kean/Venkys bashers on here but the jury is still out for me and we are only two games in. The season is over thirty eight games so there is no need to go and run around like headless chickens and panic!"

Hello! What about last season? Can you remember that far back? It is not just two games is it?

6 wins now from 25 played I think.

Apparently thery are being positive about the cricket in India. But it is not stopping them betting marmalised every week here in England. Still PMA and all that lads, PMA.

OOJW You have just saved me the time looking that up,I was thinking yesterday we have a poor record since Kean took over. Now you can only work with the tools or materiel what you have with you.Kean is not alone ,the owners seem to be cashing in ,lots of experience and know- how leaving and young players coming in.We need a leader on and off the field, its got nothing to do with who owns Rovers,if these results carry on the owners and manager will keep getting flak.I feel that the only thing to do is get behind our team every game and hope we turn the corner, but looking at the next few games coming up im a bit worried as Everton could be the key game, make or break.

I think this comment is appropriate (stolen from LT)

"See I don't want Venkys out. Providing they get the players in that have been mentioned, I'd be happy that the transfer promises have been kept and the money re-invested into the team.
.
But they really do have to seriously consider Keans position now. For THEIR own if nothing else. For whatever reason they've been taken in this guy who's gone from a nobody, to being an "unsackable" manager in the biggest league in the world. He has very little pedigree in football, and his record really does speak for itself at this point.
.
You can't really blame Kean for not walking. He's going to be determined to make this work as he knows he's not going to get the same £££ in any other job. I certainly can't imagine a wealth of clubs queing up to take him on.
.
At this point, Venkys really are going to have to hold their hands up and say "we got this one wrong. Kean is not working out as manager".
.
Do that, and get a manager in. Hughes would be the clear fans favourite, but if that's not possible, I'm sure there's a lot of other top league managers out of work and let's face it they couldn't do any worse."

At the end of the day Kean is the boss and now has 2 wins in his last 16 league matches, or 3 wins in 17 matches or 4 wins in 19 matches whichever way you wish to write the stats. This run includes Wolves x 2, West Ham, Bolton, Birmingham, Blackpool, Fulham, Newcastle and Wigan. This includes the three relegated teams from last season and two last day survivors in Wigan and Wolves.

Positive mental attitude ain't working, so I suggest we try something new.

OOJW I know the stats do not look good, I have watched the same games as you over the last 9 months or so but you really do epitomise the misery that is professed on here. I still think we should at least wait until we see who comes in before the window. They are clearly not going to get rid of him before then so what is the use in constantly whining. They are set in the their own mind that he is the right man for the job but if he does lose 6 or 7 in a row to start off the new season now then the pressure will tell. It's inevitable considering what the press are like and also it is being reflected by our own fans not turning up for the games. It is so boring listening to people on here crying but obviously a select few would like to wallow in their own self pity. I am not saying everything is great by any means this is the most unsure about our survival I have ever been since we last went down and that is not a good feeling. I will try to remain positive at least until the 1st of September as that seems better than moping around and whinging.

It's hilarious really, we'll eventually win a game and all the eternal optimists will be saying "told you Kean was the right man".

How people can even begin to defend him is beyond me. Football is a results business, and Kean's record to date is disaterous. He's lucky that it's split over two seasons, if his record over the 26 games had started at the beginning of a season, then he'd have been sacked no doubt. The fact there was a 3 month gap in the middle obviously confuses Venkys!

But hey, we we brilliant for 45 mins against Wolves last season (before trying to throw the game away), so everything is rosey. Funny how we got a 3 nil lead against Wolves under Allardyce, and didn't concede... but he was rubbish.

Will you say the same thing if we win the next three games and sign four players before the end of the window? We are perfectly capable in my opinion.

Here we go again never never land.If Venkys/Kean was going to sign 3or 4 players they would have done it by now:Before the season starts but hey Jim ive only been watching the rovers since 1964-65 season.Ive never known a Rovers team come so unprepared at the start of a new season, usually the bussiness is done before the first kick off.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

we won't win the next 3 games.

the things is, you don't care who we sign as long as we sign people. If we signed 4 proven premier league standard players, then things would be looking up (like Wolves have done). But we're talking about signing the likes of Vukcevic (looks good, but 2 million for a 25 yr old hardly suggests hot property), Ibisevic (could be good, could equally be bad), and John (who looks solid in a standard of football that is probably similar to league 1 over here). A couple of our signings might turn out ok, equally they could all turn out to be poor.

But in all honesty, we could sign 4 world beaters and Kean still wouldn't be able to get the team to perform.

I've heard Kean has 2 games to save his job. 2 losses and he's out.

So my prediction of 5 games looks spot on!

If he loses both it will be 4 games.

"I will try to remain positive at least until the 1st of September as that seems better than moping around and whinging. "

So JBA and skinovers - answer this question honestly?

Has Kean beeen a good manager for us. In my mind there is only one honest answer to this? Our points return is lower than under Allardyce despite spending more money, our last run of games shows relegation form. What gives you any indication that things are going to change for the positive? I count myself fiormly alongside OOJW, SKL etc - these guys are not 'doom and gloom' mer4chants but are being realistic. Kean couldn't manage his way out of a bus-stop on current showing and the owner's insistance on sticking with him shows how much they are willing to gamble with their investment.

The squad was gopod enough under Allardyce to get 10th. It is good enough to survive this season. the one part of it that is failing is Kean.

He might be good enough but unlike Ince who at least appeared to have a plan of his own, Kean can't seem to act decisively or even decide what he wants the team to be doing.

We will see,im not happy to see some-one lose their job but im afraid that if he goes I dont dare even think who Venkys will hire on as the new manager.Maybe Colonel Sanders?

If they're serious about running a successful club they'll realise the mistake they made and sign a respected and successful manager to build on Kean's work (by that I mean the young players coming in playing the "right way".

If they just promote someone from the coaching staff or bring in a completely untested manager then we'll know the sort of owners they are.
