Manquillo was great defensively, didn't do much going forward.

I was listening to TAW podcast the other day, he has huge stats at stopping crosses, something we need to do allot more of as we concede so many goals that way

Its because our fbs never stop crosses, that stats are awful, manquillo blocked quite a few in the few games he played
Flanno had very poor cross stopping Stats, bit of a worry and suspriosingly Glen Johnson was our best defender for stopping them!

In a formation that requires one striker I don't think Sturridge is good enough. It is a position that requires positional discipline and playing with your back to the goal. Why do u think we are forced to play Giroud! Sanchez won't play striker for us, can't do it and won't do it.
Unless I have your formation wrong but I'm not convinced Sturridge will do that well.
Mignolet has some weak points to his game. Very good shot stopper but that means Jack at the very top! I would know because we persisted with fancy shot stoppers once upon a time.

Yeah hes good at them as hes a unit and stands up well, he is incredibly slow off his line though, probably why he doesn't command crosses/set pieces as he'd never get to them,
Cissoko was not bad defensivley still don't want him at the club now though

Whats the deal with Manquillo, 2 year loan ? its odd does he have a 7 year contract with Madrid or something? do we have an option to make it permanent at any time?

Well he has done it very well everytime he has played that position. I'm not sure what makes you think he can't play that role, when he's scored goals, assisted goals and we've won games with him playing it.

Manquillo was playing in the slow-paced La Liga, against weaker sides, whose main threat isn't crossing, unlike most of the Premier League.
Also he only played a handful of games, so his stats are likely to be better, when counting averages.
I hope he proves me wrong but we will see! You look more solid defensively with one striker up top.
