In fact you probably believed AVB was a good appointment as well

welbeck is not a pure striker, more a utility forward (for now), and although he isn't great, he has most of the tools in his locker to be a very very dangerous attacker.
======================
yeah and and?
Re-read your description and imagine Townsend or Lennon or Lamela, see?
We have similar players here already.
You're probably getting the we must get a player itch OP.
The reality is that the team needs to gel with the current crop.
This is happening and explains the good results in recent games.
The players are bonding and actually seem to be on the same wavelength - most of the time. A work in progress

grandspurs are you sure you want to go down the "once you said/thought this" route, with some of the nonsense you have come out with over the years….

i think you are confused.
i am not bothered whether we sign anyone of not.
at the start of the summer i said we needed two players. a CB, and LB.
we have signed exactly that, plus a new backup keeper. so i am more than happy.
its all of you who think we should also be signing a striker that have the issue.
what i am saying is that if it was a toss up between welbeck and remy, then welbeck is the better option all things considered.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep Wellbeck whose stats and goals for utd are on a direct par with Shane Longs for WBA.
That will definitely be a formidable signing wont it?
Playing for the champions but only scoring as many goals as somebody in a struggling prem side wheras Remy has far better stats for scoring goals and is actually a far better player.
Anyway neither of them are good enough to take us where we want to be so either would be a bad signing
Wellbeck
loads of spurs fans wanted to sign shane long last january though
anyway. if it were up to me, we wouldn't sign welbeck or any other forward.
assuming fazio comes in, then the only player i would bother persuing is schneiderlein.
we don't need any more forwards, but loads of spurs fans still want another one, so if poch agrees then thats fine with me

------------------------------------------------------------------------
no lots of CLUELESS Spurs fans wanted to sign Shane Long last January a bit like the fans that want to sign Danny Wellbeck now
i don't want to sign danny welbeck granspurs. you continue to miss this point. i don't want to sign any forward.
however, if we were to sign another forward, then welbeck wouldn't be a bad option. (depending on price)
can you understand the simple difference?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I understand the difference and I also understand that anybody that thinks Wellbeck would not be a bad option (regardless of the price), whether they want to sign a forward or not ,would be ranked IMO as a clueless fan compared with an intelligent fan.

I wouldnt mind seeing Welbck being bought in.
Ive supported Spurs for 27 years and im certainly not clueless.
Just because you dont rate a certain player dosent make you the oracle on all things Spurs and Football.

Well as is often said football is a game of opinions. I agree with that some bad opinions and some good ones and IMO anybody who thinks Wellbeck would be a decent addition to the playing staff at WHL is clueless and under the circumstances IMO that includes you.
Regardless of how long somebody follows a club that has little or no bearing on them being clueless or not so I fail to see why you mention that
Give the whole 'clueless' bit a rest would you!
Saying that has as little bearing as if it was redirected and aimed at you....utterly pointless.
Welbeck isn't as bad as some make out and I can see why some would see him as a decent option at decent price.
.....But I wouldn't want him as I don't see him as an upgrade on what we currently have in any position he can cover and have enough depth without forking out for him.
Didn't he also get a bumper pay rise after a couple of decent England games a year or so ago? If so, definnitely wouldn't want him in on a high wage just cause he's 'decent and versatile'
Give the whole 'clueless' bit a rest would you!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope, I call it as I see it and I doubt that half the posters that think we should sign him have even thought about his wages
