I can't see either Agger or Enrique being first choice this season. Wouldn't be too surprised if one, if not both were sold before the end of the window.

From the purchasing this summer I don't think you could say we have a first choice XI... it genuinely will be horses for courses... e.g. assuming balotelli signs, 6 of our "best" players must fit into the front five (Balo, Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Lallana)... and this is before really knowing whether Markovic is going to come good.

I think Mingolet, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson & Sturridge will start all our biggest games. The rest will be decided on the oppo - I do like that spine though.

No more johnson please, time to blood the new signings if their fit.

The midfield and attacking trios will probably be for home games where we'll need to break teams down. However, I'd be surprised to see us so attacking in certain away fixtures, starting with tonight. Probably an extra body in central midfield with Coutinho or Lallana sacrificed to the bench in place of Can/Lucas.

lucas / agger / Johnson will all go if we get the right offer (£5 m / £12 m / £5 m) I think.
